Forums - Nintendo - New Epic Mickey Game Play Video

I was a little worried when I saw this game during E3 but not as much now, now they just need to fix the camera issue in 3D space that the journalits mentioned.

I like all those weird drawings from the Disney Vault (especially the Lion), but the game still looks somewhat weak.

Im still worried. The whole erasing and painting in the world doesn't seem that great at all. I thought it would have been more like Scribblenauts meets Okami's paint system. Maybe not exactly like that but close. I'll have to wait for reviews to see if gameplay will be fun enough to ignore the obviously weak story that seems to be radiating from this.

Just saw the "Oh What a Knight", and "Plutopia" cartoons. The first one is actually an Oswald short, therefore a Universal cartoon.

Like I already said, love the concept of the whole game, but I am not that impressed with the game per se, which make me sad, because I really what to enjoy this game.

I have to agree with everyone so far.  While it's obvious there's a lot of Disney love here, the gameplay looks generic and flat.    Which is a shame, because the thought or painting with an IR brush (or WM )was intriging.  Instead it's used as little more than a way to progress the game (erase a wall, instead of opening a door / paint a bridge, instead of pulling a lever).  How base, generic and unimaginative.

Also, I fear they may screw themselves with a lack of audience for this game.  Why would kids want to play in 50's cartoons? Especially dark, spooky ones? Something they can't relate too.  Why would adults want to play as Mickey?

because their parents will buy it when they see disney and mickey? dunno.

Edit: Double post

i don´t know, but im still excited for this game and still think it looks really cool, everyone seems to bash it one way or another, which is fine, but there are other games less innovative games out there and no one seems to complaint.

the painting mechanics look very simple from the videos they have shown, but that may change in the course of the game? i hope , but either way i really want to play this one.

i think the whole game is just a  slideshow of disney scenes/movies.

its like it forgets that its a game and that its supposed to be fun, instead it just focuses on "oh thats a disney reference!"

which is btw is the same issue i had with Kingdom Hearts, that game had too much potential but was limited to what the disney storyline of each "World" was.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

I'm still very optimistic about the game, and as a Disney fan (especially the theme parks ) It's great to see pieces of Disney come together in the game.

Yeah, some of the video (the one with Mickey fighting that Skeleton in the Haunted Mansion-esque house) looks somewhat uninspired... but I really loved those 2D sections. It looks like a whole buncha fun to me. ^_^

Anywho, color (or paint... hardy har) me excited!
