Some more info

• The game will support off-line split screen as well as on-line split screen.

• The single player game will not have the 15 stand alone characters. Instead the game will focus around four main factions; Sweet tooth, Doll face, Mr. Grim, and The Preacher. Each of the four characters will have their own “faction” and their own “origin” story.

• The in game cars will act as “characters.”

• The game will go back to its roots with live action cut scenes. Each character has its own origin movie. There are also 9 different live action endings.

• DLC “hopefully” will be implanted but the DLC will be game changing-not just new character skins.

• On-line multiplayer will have deathmatch, team deathmatch, NUKE and other team based games.

• The team also hinted at returning franchise characters.

• “Special” moves for each vehicle will return. New to the franchise will be a “Alt. Special” which is more powerful but more difficult to use.

Hellz yeah?

I came in expecting something empty to be honest but that is a surprise, now just confirm being able to turn off helicopters and I'll be fine

Hopefully this sends a message to other Sony first party devs. I'm still hoping MOVE/3D hasn't caused SOCOM 4 and KZ3 to go without splitscreen.

Move wouldn't affect that one way or the other - it's just a different input device.  I suppose 3D might but again it shouldn't really - 3D games will also do 2D and in 2D if they want splitsreen then the only impact is it may not be available in 3D.

Will KZ3 even have splitscreen?  The KZ2 didn't and GG said this was down to high levels of streaming and the design of the engine.  KZ3 sounds like with no-loading screens it has even more streaming and the engine is presumerably similar.  Did GG say they were going to have splitscreen this time?

Now the PS3 just needs to allow multiple PSN account log-ins at the same time, so those 2 players can be recognized as such and receive trophies.

Is this the first PS3 game to have online split screen ?

That would be good.  Did Resistance 2 have something like this?  I seem to remember they added a patch where two players could play and gain experience, etc. for their respective accounts while playing the coop splitscreen.

Wow! After six years and a long time after the first Wii games done that the PS3 finally gets a Split-Screen online game.

By the way. Conduit 2 will feature 4-Player-Split-Screen online.

Resistance 2 had exactly that, and had online splitscreen from launch, it's not something new to the PS3 for those who think so.

I'm very happy to see that they're doing four player splitscreen, that's awesome. :D

Thought so.  I must give the coop another go one time.  It was a lot of fun.
