Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's customer support letter

Yeah, I've never heard of this problem. I'm not saying you don't have a problem, I just think you might have the wrong cause.

i do not have the component cables, i just use the ones the wii came with, so that may be why i do not have issues. I do want to get the component cables though are they worth it?

Also, going to agree with everyone else- be more specific. When reporting any kind of error in any situation don't be general, be very specific.

When I first read your letter I thought you were an idiot and just meant you were angry that your games were stretched and I'm sure that's what they thought too.

I run my system as 480p 4x3 on my HDTV. I've never had an issue with a VC game. Did you try switching your system to 480p 4x3?

I will however say that I had a hell of a time trying to get a genesis to work properly on my TV. For some reason it just did not like the signal coming from it. The screen would freeze and the audio wouldn't come through. I had to run it through an adapter to get it working properly which downgraded the signal even more.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I've had this issue. 16-bit games not displaying properly on an HDTV when using the composite cables that came with the Wii. Get component cables and the problem goes away.

That has to do with the genesis' crappy composite output in some models, I know you used an adapter that got it working, but a 32x, which outputs a stronger signal would probably fix the problem, or you can do an RGB mod (starts remember my own days of modding consoles... top loading nes with composite out, atari 7800 with composite out and compatible with a genesis ac adapter, portable atari 2600 which was working beutifully and just needed a case built but my younger brother accidentally crushed it, ahhh those were the days.)

After playing on the Genesis for a few hours with the 16 games my friend had I realized how right I was about the SNES being the better system.  The Genesis had worse audio then the NES, the graphics are livable but they lack the polish that Nintendo games had.  I've got a few genesis games on the VC and so far I feel that I haven't come across any games that stand out.  Ristar is about the best looking Genesis game which is cool but the game reminds me of an uncool kirby.  I'm not basing this on graphics (though audio has to be at least somewhat ok to be deemed worth hearing), the gameplay in most genesis games stunk.  Gunstar Superheros is my pick for best Genesis game.  I do like playing that, but sadly it's not as good as Contra 3 on the SNES... that game just rocked.
