I've used Dual Analog for shooters since the first Halo, and I can say I'm very used to it, and I can't agree with your sentiment on kbo and mouse only being better if you are not used to dual analog, it's more like a lot of FPS games have slowed down over the years to compensate for Dual Analog, and it's god damned sad.

If you have not only a PC but also consoles and you are not big on achievements or trophies(lame shits to start with,) then consoles are good for their exclusives and that's that since I can always plug in a 360 pad on my PC if I feel like it.

Very VERY poor excuse I hear all the time. The games simply have become more realistic. That's it.

It would be pretty sad if every FPS had the same controls as Quake or UT.

And if you still can't candle dual analog controls after all this time, then you simply suck at them. But please don't blame them for you inability.

Also lol at the last part. Millions of people love achievements/trophies to death. A very good reason to buy multiplat games on consoles. Again, you can't label them as shit just because you don't like them.

You don't need software assisted auto-aim with the mouse though. When I shoot someone I prefer to know it's my skill that's hit him or my lack of skill that misses, not the software kicking in to help. You can also tell the games that have poorly implemented auto-aim as it becomes really noticeable.

The mouse is just better suited to aiming than an analog stick. The keyboard is different. Ideal scenario would be a mouse with analog directional control.

Well I can't argue that the PC has way better deals for games and content but respect??!?  That doesn't even enter into the equation.

As for games - PC doesn't have Halo Reach so thats just thats not even close to true...

Oh and the guy in the video is an immature jackass.

Halo Reach won't be the end game for FPS just like how Halo 3 was never the king, until a motion control proves itself 100% and they make the games go ultra fast, I'll never acknowledge console FPS as real competitive gaming, not to mention console FPS is fucking up a lot of the ones on PC, but if you are a fan of the Halo stories, then I have no objections since it's always fun to follow stories that you like. I'm happy to know they made it harder though, that's what they claim anyways.

and no, I don't suck with the dual analog =P not even close, it's just ridiculous when you play Valve games on PC vs consoles is all I'm saying, difference in control and reflex are too big.

Name one FPS that looks better and has even half as much content as Halo Reach.

I think cs 1.6 has several hundreds of times more mps than halo reach, and much tighter gameplay to boot. But it is 10 years old, and in a combination of content and looks, that has been released recently or in the near future, you are right (at least as far as I can remember). The problem is PC games are becoming more like consoles games, i.e. less and less content. As PCs get worse and worse they approach the level of consoles.

Not to diss PC Gaming or anything but I only play PC Games that I'm interested in and that I cannot find on the PS3 i.e Mass Effect and L4D and then I only play PC games for Blizzard Games and that's it.

For me, I get far more joy and out from Console gaming as I've been a Console gamer for years now and for me, Split Screen and Controllers is where it's at for me. I like to play games with controller and not with Keyboard and Mouse. That's also why I don't like Kinect, but that's got nothing to do with this thread.

I remember the times when I was a PC only player. Good times, because the PC had a lot of good games back then.

But since the PS2 era, PC exclusives have become less and worse. PC gaming has been in a decline for years.

Graphics on multiplat games are better, but many times there is absolutely no noticable difference, except when you're playing the console and PC version at the same time on 2 different monitors. Keyboard and mouse is only better when you're not used to controllers.

Steam sucked so hard at the beginning. At least it's getting better and I'd almost call it good. If only the prices weren't so shitty here in mainland Europe...

Even then I'd rather pay 5€ more a retail copy than a full steam game.

If you want FPS, TPS, Sports games, Racers , Fighters, Action-Adventures, JRPGs, Sandbox games, Rhythm games get a console, if you like more MMORPG, Strategy , Simulation and Adventure games stick with the PC

I don't know where you get that I'm bad with dual analog, not to mention there is never anything realistic about FPS on consoles, at all, that, is a poor excuse in itself.

Achievements and Trophies to me is basically people competing on who has lesser life outside of video games,  it's shit.

You can actually use your PS3 controller for any PC game.

i do like pllaying the ocasional rts on my pc but it will never become a large scale gaming machine, no matter how much better it looks to the console counterparts, most people just cant afford to buy a thousand dollar rig and fuck with getting a comftorble control scheme (mouse and keyboard doesnt appeal to everyone).  Also with piracy on the pc much easier on a pc its not as appealing to publishers either.

That's the thing, I never said PC FPS is more realistic -_^b. The point is that they are not realistic on any platform so that's moot and BS, they are video games, I use both kbo/mouse and dual analog, and I have for years and I'm good with both, but kbo/mouse combo is easily the better control overall especially for faster moving FPS games. If you get to the point of realistic simulators, then they are not games, they are simulators, and the only thing I can think of that go that route are some PC Racing Sims and PC Flight Sims.

The only thing not plagued by piracy is the PS3 atm, and I use my 360 pad on my PC a lot depending on the genre, but the money part, I can understand. It's a lot like renting a house or invest in a house, you pay roughly the same per month, but one will yield more in the long run, but if you have no down payment, there is nothing you can do about it /shrug . PC Gaming isn't for everybody, and I don't feign ignorant about that.
