Or just the rest of Europe like more FFXII than UK.

Exactly. UK market is so... weirdly different from the other EU countries.

its like america their is a bigger focus on shooters, but in return their isnt much a focus on rpgs while in america their is.

Not just RDR.

Look at Just Dance too. It's not as big in the rest of Europe...
I wouldn't be surprised if 70-80% of Just Dance EU sales came from the UK...

I agree FF XII was a bad bad game, but it is impressive that it is still selling so well since 2006

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

What, Red Dead Redemption sold 820,000 copies in the UK (plus Ireland) alone?

I can't even grasp that number. What other HD games got such numbers apart from Halo and GTA. Assassin's Creed perhaps?

OH my days! How is God of war 3 not on  that list? I thought it sold really well in the uk!

No Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Oh Why must my country have such bad taste in games?

They should promote Just Dance more in the rest of Europe!

The UK, like the US, seems to be moving to a huge preference for online gaming (which RDR has and which seems popular) vs the SP only experience of something like GoW3 when it comes to games on HD consoles..  No doubt there are lot's of other factors, too.  But like US I see in UK that Nintendo tends to dominate overall via the Wii, the big FPS are always around and then the occasionally biggie makes a splash like RDR.

Look at the split for titles like FFXIII UK to Europe for example - although that may be genre in addition to an SP only experience as I think turn based style strategy is also rapidly dropping out of flavour in UK vs real time gameplay.

It's actually a bit depressing as I'm not sure long term it's going to be that viable for so many gamers to lock themselves into a relatively small set of titles.  And for sure Activision is going to move to some form of subscription if the bulk of sales are going to focus around such a narrow set of titles with others no doubt following suit.  But that's getting a bit off topic I guess.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

God of War was never that big in Europe/UK.

Had Sony marketed it better in the PS2 days, God of War would have been an easy 5 million plus franchise.

And how much did God of War III sell in the UK alone so far Mr.Walton ? 200k ? Or even lower ?
