Not quite what I expected from the early data, but a good week overall. Will be interesting to see our hw / sw figures when they come in shortly.

I have to say the results are a little strange this week. For the preview, every DQ game since 2007 has had the same week one market share but this DQ for Wii they had like 50% more share than usual. Some weird stuff with Fire Emblem which is similar and Momotarou. Those franchises are usually pretty consistent...but not this week.

That's a very strong opening for a Fire Emblem title.. I'm shocked.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Great slaes for Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest, I wonder if the opton to switch off permanent deaths in the game as a role in this number?

Wow low DQ sales, but it is a 3 year old spinoff port. I still expected 200k at least

They have shipped 300k units of DQ, so it will eventually reach that number, with or without a price-cut.

dragon quest monsters joker (DS): 627,022 opening week in japan (VGC).

looks like the old adage remains true.... japan is handhelds.

Console DQ spinoff 1st week sales for comparison (Famitsu only, sorry)... I was kinda surprised how low the last console DQM sold (which was also an enhanced port), it's identical to Battle Road V...

So how does this compare to the PS2 version that was released?

Ok sorry i read your first sentence, and obviously this has performed similar to the previous one which means that it isnt all that bad after all. Maybe we overestimated its performance?

Square-Enix never even listed it as a major title for the fiscal year - it just kind of came out of the blue. I expected more, but that doesn't mean they're dissatisfied - some games only get one shipment.
