Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Official Metroid Other M Thread

Bad sales in Europe, decent in Japan and America. Will probably do 700-800k lifetime.

Fallen to 40th in it's second week in the UK.

That's a pretty significant drop, but I wonder how it translates into sales.

Had to use the guide once, about speed-boosting through a dirt wall, largely because i was looking for a hole significantly higher up, but kept running into invisible walls.

European performance on this is abysmal, though. The big Nintendo franchises really don't have the same natural pull in the region (with exceptions)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm playing it on hard mode and it's fucken ridiculous. In hard mode u dont get any expansions, u play the whole game with 10 missles and the health bar.

Ouch- clearly Nintendo games aren't popular around the release of Halo: Reach in the UK (seriously, it's the only thing in this country, it's almost as though nothing else exists!)

More fool them, they're missing out on a great game.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Or maybe the game is just not what people want.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I find that hard to believe

Well it's better than your own hypothesis, which is falsified by the fact that there are a number of "Nintendo games" higher on the UK chart than Other M.

Considering the sales of NSMBWii in EMAA, I think it's safe to say that was a hit in the UK as well.

If the legs for Other M don't hold, it's likely they will swtich to another Prime style game next time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I wouldn't go so far, but they'll probably move away from the dialogue/cutscene-heavy direction of Other M.
