Gametrailers review is out morenoingrato

8.6/10

I was watching it, but the video was taking too long to load so I was waiting, I wanted the score to be a surprise :-/

I'm gonna guess gametrailers will nominate other M to dissapointment of the year....

lol no way in hell...the scores aren't bad and the game looks pretty good tbh, I myself might try to find a wii somehow to play this. And also biggest dissapointment? I can easily name one that will take the crown on that that has been released already this year.

at least a nomination, and much like zelda at e3.... not bad.... dissapointing.....

gametrailers gave it the best game of wii e3 and they gave it their most hyped game of 2010 at the start of the year....

by looking at the footage and review it so far looks cooler than prime, looking at the enviorement selection, battle, gameplay.... and story I think I will enjoy it

ONM (Official Nintendo Magazine) are due to review Metroid: Other M soon.

I am disappointed in the review scores, they seem to be comparing Metroid: Other M to the Metroid franchise but are over-scaling this.

Played the game today at the M:Other M event in London, and it's fucking awesome. :D :D :D

Can't wait for it to come out!!

The GT review mentioned that it 's about 10 hours long.

Doesn't sound too bad. It took my twice as long with both Prime games I played, though, and this one seems more linear.

wow this is a huge dissapointment, i knew this game would not get very high reviews but atleast i hoped it would. Also it seems to be really short compared to the prime games.

Remember that previous Metroid games were short as hell. Metroid Fusion demanded that you beat the game in less than 4 hours, or else you were punished with the no-exposed-skin ending (unless you had 100% completion). Prime games were their own thing (an excellent thing, to be sure. Prime 1 is still the best game ever)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

ONM mentioned that 10-15 hours was the amount of time it takes to complete the game with the minimal amount of upgrades.

never played any other metroid game besides super and the 3 prime ones. but even Super took me 15 or so hours the very first time i played it and that games has 0 hours cutscenes.

yeah, Super Metroid was huge when you didn't know what to do, the same with the original Metroid. It's dissapointing this one is 10 hrs in the first playthrough, and I don't know if they are taking into account the cutscenes.

I was expecting mixed reviews for this game, to be honest. They've taken a big risk with Metroid, yet again, and some people are bound to hate what they've done, but I applaud them for it. Videogames need constant reinvention. I can't wait to get this game and not one review so far has changed my mind-mainly because reviewers I respect have enjoyed the game.

After playing the game for around 3 hours (just beat the boss in sector 1), i have some  complaints. The game is not exceeding my expectations, but its a fairly good game so far.

Complaints

-The voice Acting: there's just too much voice acting, sure i get it that it was for the fans, but i think that the execution wasn't very good. Bottom line, it disturbs the PACING of the game.

-Adam: his words alone have power over you, in that you cannot use missiles, bombs, power bombs, etc... this was very poor if you ask me. theres one quote he says... "power bombs can kill your fellow soldiers, and destroy the walls" or something along those lines

-the combat: the game is a cakewalk so far, going from room A to room B, automatic lock on makes the game a cakewalk. For example you move from the left to the right, and enemies move up, or behind you, or at 90, 180, degrees, and you cannot aim, unless you go to first person mode, which is a drag, so, just by pressin 1, you shoot, and the automatic lockon well makes the game easy.

-finding powerups: you find many powerups by defeating enemies in a room, and that makes a blue sign appear on the map, telling you if there is a misslie expansion, or a tank piece.... this just makes the game easier for the casual gamer, and took away the fun of exploring the game by myself.

I'm first a Metroid Fan, not a nintendo fan. Take my words with a grain of salt if you cannot distringuish between a great to a good game. Metroid Other M is a good game. Not a great one unfortunately. I kinda see why reviews are between 7's and 8's and i agree. Though my metroid bias, has me rating it as an 8-8.5
