It's on my to-do-list, especially since my roommate told me it was a fantastic game! On the other hand, I really don't enjoy playing "dark" or violent games... So I'm not yet fully motivated. But the "mind tricks" thing sounds great and innovative.

I know what you mean. I don't either there is something about the title that let's me escape the "darkness" in it. But I won't explain it as it would be a big Spoiler. But what I can say is although I though Res EVil 4 looked great and played great, I did not get that far in it because I was overly creeped out about shooting the women town folk in the head. That and the Chain Saw fellow scared the crap out of me.

Give it a go at a cheap price if you don't like it sell it. The story sucked me in though and it probably will you. Also if you start to get freaked out by your characters insanity it is pretty easy to get it back, esp. when you learn how to your first spells.

You're right, I should give it a try. Plus it's really cheap if you buy it used... I think I saw it for 12€ at a Gamestop.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Better late than never to apriciate a gem like ED!!!I live in Greece and they sell the damn game for 4,99 euro and still nobody get it. Best of the last generation story telling, voice acting and great sanity effects. The reason i bought the gamecube that time. Too bad they didn't release Too Human for the gamecube i liked better the previous desigh than the norway/viking style they chose now.

I have it and started it, but got so damn busy I never finished. Looks like its time to fire ED up again! Adds game to the list of 20 games I need to finish before I die.

Yes. Because it got good marks from reviews; I had followed its origin from the N64; the 2000 yr time span sounded cool; and the Gamecube was going through its first year droughts. Answer your questions?

I bought it with my Gamecube back in 2002. I got it because I needed another game beside Animal Crossing and Mario Sunshine and wanted something darker. I really liked the name and the cover so I got it instead of Resident Evil 0. I know that's a pretty pathetic reason but I was in the army at the time and didn't have regular internet access so I had no knowledge of any Gamecube games beside Animal Crossing and Mario. I played through it and no I don't really see why people consider it so great. The story was stupid, the combat was lame, the levels were way too linear, and the puzzles were too easy.

Thanks for saying that! So many people would write in who didn't like it and just say "I didn't like it" and that's it. It is cool that you gave the "why."

Yeah one reason I picked it up was because of the Darker theme. I also had, had some poor experiences with Resident Evil's that is one reson why I never considered buying a Resident Evil game until RE4 came along.

But we differ on our enjoyment of the game, obviously.

What are your favorite games buy the way?

Out of the last 2 generations (in no particular order) anything with the Legend of Zelda, Civilization IV, KotOR 1&2, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing:WW, Advance Wars, Halo, Call of Duty 1&4, Metroid Prime 1&3, MLB Power Pros, RE4, Z&W, Burnout, the Europa Univeralis series.

Yeah, I agree with you on the design for Too Human. I can't say that I won't get used to it and also it does makes sense from the history of the company, Silicon Knights, that it would be based off of things from the past. For most of their games they put in a but load of research time. In one of the Eternal Darkness Levels after completing the level they took out the Stain Glass windows because at the time the character in the game "lived" they didn't have Stain Glass. They also said that if they were allowed to do Kid Icarus they would use most of the Mythos surrounding the character. So you see they love that kind of stuff.

And in some ways if you think about it who is to say that the Trend won't come round again even if the Technology changes, so who is to say? Sure the fur would have to be fake but who doesn't like metal hats with horns on them?
