Yankees owner George Steinbrenner passed away this morning after suffering a massive heart attack.

He bought the team back in 1973 for $10M and after winning 11 AL pennants and 7 Championships his time has finally come to an end.

Even as a Mets fan my heart goes out to all you Yankee fans out there. A fan of any team would have loved to have an owner like him.

I was just wondering how old he was and when he would go yesterday. This is the second person I've killed by thinking about them this year. The first was Gary Coleman.

True Blue Yankee fan from the Bronx here. He will be missed. I especially loved how they portrayed him in Seinfeld (he did too).
