The winners of GameSpot's E3 Reader's Choice Awards are finally up, with Killzone 3 taking top honors, landing 15% of the vote.

Developed by Guerrilla Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Killzone 3 is the latest title in the Killzone franchise, bringing the most robust first-person shooter experience exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system. Following on the heels of the highly acclaimed Killzone 2, players will once again face the hostile Helghast army, battling overwhelming odds in the fight for human survival. Killzone 3 delivers the definitive cinematic sci-fi war experience with an immersive single-player campaign as well as full featured multiplayer action in the war against the Helghast. |
Other notable contenders were Kirby's Epic Yarn at 13%, Dead Space 2 at 12%, and Star Wars: The Old Republic at 10%. Kirby's Epic Yarn was GameSpot's choice for the award, followed by Killzone 3. Disappointingly, the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword wasn't made eligible for voting.
It also won best shooter, garnering 20% of the vote, followed by Crysis 2 at 19%, Halo: Reach at 15%, Call of Duty: Black Ops at 13%, and Gears of War 3 at 12%. Killzone 3 took home GameSpot Staff's award for Best Shooter as well.
LittleBigPlanet 2 was also a favorite with readers, winning the Best Platformer award with a whopping 37% of the vote.

Second place was Kirby's Epic Yarn at 18%, followed by Donkey Kong Counter Returns at 16%. Kirby took home the GameSpot Staff Award.
Even more impressive than LBP2 is Gran Turismo 5, which took won the Best Racing Game award with an incredible 43% of the vote.

That last sentence is certainly a testament to the incredible scope of the game. Behind GT5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit garnered a respectable 21% of the vote. GameSpot's Editors also chose GT5 for Racer of the Show.
