i think they said at e3 somthing about some dance game and how it was the best selling 3rd part wii game. i checked and it had sold around 2 million.....

See.. this happens when you separate the sales site from the forums... members not knowing how to use vgchartz numbers.. :( .. Just Dance sold 3,5 million and is still selling strong.. may have a shot at guitar Hero's 4,4 million..

As long as it's a great handheld for gamers then that's all that matters to me.

having fun playing games on a console >> popularity of the console

Thank you. Finally someone who understands what really matters.

Popularity of the console directly correlates with fun every person is having while playing games on it, e.g. DS is more fun than PSP judging by the majority opinion.

If you're serious... well, then let me answer this with a question:

Following the mainstream (-> buying the console the mainstream does) and thinking that this is the best console is better than making his own opinion about which console delivers you the most fun, right?

This is based on your logic.

What exactly you didn't understand from my post? Did I say smth against what you've just said or what?

No, you didn't. And I understood your post very well. My point just was: just because the majority likes it, I don't have to like it. So silicon's original post ("having fun playing games on a console >> popularity of the console") is still logic. It's subjective, but your post sounded like "everyone is having more fun playing with a more popular console".

You probably haven't intended to do that, but it actually sounds like that (at least a bit).

Sry if my previous comment sounded harsh, btw.

You do realise that the selection of games is much larger with the DS than the PSP right? I currently have nothing to play on the PSP besides Peace Walker because I've finished the supposed best games on the PSP before it, and I'm still not running out of DS games to play on the road by a long shot. You simply have more choices for games on a DS than PSP. It's not even about preference, it's the hard cold truth.

Seriously, I have never said that the DS has not a stronger software lineup. There are in fact a lot more games than on PSP. But my point is this: DS games don't appeal to everyone, PSP games don't do that either. I had a DS, but I sold it because I got bored by it. Right now there are actually a few DS games I would want to play, but I'll wait for the 3DS and I will play them then. So it is preference. It's not like everyone has to think that the DS is better.

And I don't play PSP as much as PS3, Wii or 360, I have to admit, but there are great games as well. A possible PSP2 will definitly not kill the 3DS, that's impossible, but if Sony gives me the right games (God of War, Uncharted, Killzone, etc.) then I'll definitly buy one.

I wouldn't want Uncharted on a handheld, I loved the movie feel of it and I don't feel a small screen can do that kind of game justice, the same goes for God of War or KZ tbh, I'm just far less interested, they are just meant to be seen on a huge ass TV imo since they all look damn good on the PS3 already. Now if they have like, a Monkey Island Collection type thing, then I might be interested. Got Monkey Island 1 and 2 on my iPhone recently, now that really kicks ass, cheaper than the other versions too! (8 vs 10!!)

Well, of course it doesn't has to be exactly these games. For me the portable versions wouldn't be able to be more or at least as impressive as the home console versions, so you're definitly. But there simply has to be the right games on the PSP2 (and a second analog stick) then I would be pleased.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for example was just great for a portable game, and also FFVII: Crisis Core. These are the games I'm glad about having a PSP, and I hope games like this will be on the PSP2 as well.

Is the letter "X" considered cooler than "S"? Yes, it's commonly agreed.  So what if MS is secretly developing and releases the "3DX" one week before 3DS to steal its thunder?

Wow, this thread has steered of the topic so far off.  I was reading it and I forgot what the thread was about. Anyways, four things.

1. @ weezy. you're worried because you say Nintendo has released details on 3DS early and now Sony knows what it is and has the upper hand. ie. copy 3D effect etc. Well don't you think Nintendo has already thought about that? If it was that big a deal I'm pretty sure 3DS would still be a secret.

2. I believe that even if Sony "potentially" has the upper hand because Nintendo played their cards first, Sony now has less time to react because think about it. Lets say production of 3DS began a year after the Nintendo DS was released. Ok that would give Nintendo 5 years to develop and perfect 3DS. Nintendo has already stated that the Nintendo 3DS is coming out sometime within the fiscal year. So that means the latest that the 3DS will release is sometime next March or around then and the soonest anytime before that. That would mean Sony has less then a year to blueprint, design, develop, then release PSP2 just to be able to compete competitively which not only means being a handheld that is being pitted against 3DS, but can gain many 3rd party software and sell at large amounts. So 5 years > 1 year. Big advantage for Nintendo.

3. This kind of goes back to a point I made in 2. I just wanted people to realize what happen the last time Sony tried to imitate Nintendo at the last second. They ended up with a failure a.k.a "Sixaxis". Poorly developed tilt sensors.

4. This one is a joke, well halfway. If Sony made a PSP2, with better graphics, faster processors, larger screen, etc. it would be like PSP vs DS and everyone knows how that ended up. Ok ok ok lets say Sony threw in stereoscopic 3D. It wouldn't really matter I don't believe BUT the earlier they do it the better. They would at least stand a bit more of a chance. The joke part is, if Sony wants to defeat 3DS, the PSP2 would have to be dual screen with the bottom one touch screen. It would need three cameras two on the inside one on the out capable of taking 3D pictures and recording 3D video. Top screen slightly longer than bottom. Clamshell design. Then they need to call it Nintendo 3DS and release it before Nintendo release their 3DS, so that consumers will buy Sonys "Nintendo 3DS" first and not Nintendo's 3DS :D ha ha ha.

So please someone reply to this, tell me whether my post sounds logical or not. Thanks.
