UK should have it's own chart

No, UK should not have its own chart :X Europe yes, UK included. :D

And Yes, Japan should remain as a region, or renamed so that more countries fall under the "asian" renamed region.

Japan has its own culture, own games, own fans etc. Uk is the same as Europe.. or well. UK could really be bundled in with NA numbers, they've basicly got the same trends ;D

You didn't suggest that Europe gets it's own chart though. Didn't you suggest that VGChartz should have a UK chart as well as "Europe" and "Others", even though UK is Europe?

I think that is much different from just splitting up EU and Asia.

I think people objected there because you were breaking it down too much and really just wanted to showcase how popular the 360 is in the UK.

Although EMEA isn't a perfect bracket (as it seems to odd to lump Moroccan sales together with, say, Swedish sales), I think it's the best solution - for want of a better word - that we have for now.

Again i must stress that it is not an attack on the website or those who help with it, you do a good job!

But Japan should be removed and put in with the rest of asias numbers now. It has been in decline for awhile. Just look at this weeks numbers for hardware, 130k. Compared to the same week in 2007 which was 300k. That is a vast change. Especially when you consider Japan has a near 130m population. The 9th highest population in the world.

If we look at the near 300k total this week for EMEAA we see only 88k of that comes from outside Europe. Basically 212k of that is from Europe. Nearly twice that of Japan for the week. In that week 2m software units were sold in Europe. In Japan it was 1.3m.

I understand a lot of people like Japanese numbers. I am one of them, I have studied a lot about Japan, have spent a bit of my life there. But in terms of current trends Europe has emerged as the 2nd biggest selling region. You can't just bung it together with Africa,Asia,Middle East.

Americas,Europe,Asia,ROTW (rest of the world)?

I think it should be :- Americas (U.S.,Canada and Mexico, i believe),  Europe (The whole European continent if posssible), Japan and lastly others (Which would be Africa, middle east, Asia apart from Japan plus Australasia and the central/South American countries not covered.) There could still be breakdowns by country wherever possible. That would be perfect IMHO.

It's interesting that you like to talk about me in the third-person so often (but not unsurprising, as presumably you think such an indirect approach makes your slander more admissible).

Hastening back to the topic/Kowenicki's post:

a) you were gunning for the UK to be a region because of 360 vs PS3 sales in that region and I wasn't alone in feeling that way - Hatmoza alluded to this on the very first page.

b) you didn't say you were "happy to compromise" with Europe alone being separate, you just said "even that alone would make more sense" to you than the current system - those two statements are not the same, and you carried on promoting the UK over Japan throughout the thread as you continued your crusade for the UK's separation on the charts.

And like the majority I prefer EMEA over Europe Others for many reasons - that it neatly ties in with how the big 3 present data, that Others' consumer habits aren't sufficiently distinct from Europe as to actually merit separation, that changing things would create unnecessary work for the numbers team, etc.
