The price of games maybe haven't goes up because the games support are more and more cheaper. The NES cartridges cost a lot of more to built that the price of a DVD nowadays.
Also the volumes made it up for the price. Over the time more and more copies of a game must be sell to turn a profit.
But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.
Videogames are utterly insignificant when compared to the cost of Warhammer 40,000 (not the videogames but the actual table-top minature wargame the videogames are based on).
Too bad I don't live in america and the last game I wanted to get were 74e = 94$

Lol, you should be happy you don't live in Europe. $3.83 for a gallon is insanely cheap, compared to prices here.

your point is non existent. new tech has always cost a lot, but it was also priced for profit, they werent moving milions of copies of software.
Great thread lewis. That's what I've tried to teach people for years now that gaming is a cheap form of entertainment/hobby and we should be thankful.
OP: This is true. I remember paying as much for my NES games in the late 80's as I do now for my PS3 and PC games.
Slightly off topic; I can't believe how cheap your gas is... we pay over two dollars (13NOK) for every liter here.
here in Venezuela we pay US $0.01 per liter, yup that's one cent per liter...
