A few months ago, there was a rumor that Konami may be considering porting Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to the Playstation Network on the Playstation 3. Although it was quickly shot down by Kojima Production, many fans still hope that the critically-acclaimed PSP game will still come out on a home console.

In a recent interview with French gaming site JeuxVideo at Japan Expo, Hideo Kojima made a brief comment about possibly porting Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker from the PSP to the Playstation 3:

I can not say I'll do a direct conversion of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on Playstation 3. However, this game was a challenge in terms of its development on the PSP for me and I probably will preserve the base of it. And if I had to port it to another console, I would add even more depth to the story.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker was released in North America on June 8th

Damndest thing happened today:  I went to download a game for my PSP using my PS3 (I always use the PS3 and then copy it to my PSP so that I can have a back up of the data).  It was just a PSP Mini but, when I went to copy it, the game started playing on my PS3!  When did this start!?!

What I'm getting at is that, instead of porting a portable game to the most powerful home console on the market, Sony should just go ahead and make ALL PSP games playable on the PS3.  It would go a long way towards helping PSP game sales, PSP console sales, and strenghening the link between the PSP and the PS3.

Anybody remember a MGS game announced for the 3DS? I think we have our answer....

That's MGS3, not PW, actually that might not even be MGS3, might be a whole new game!!!!! Either way it's not HD, so no it's not our answer, as awesome as the 3DS is, it does not output images in High Def.

thats a very good idea, there alot of psp games i have my eye on and i would to have them on my ps3 instead of having an army of umds.

This is good news for those of us who want it playable on ps3

It is a good idea, but I think they'd need to implement a way to transfer save files easily, perhaps over the net.

Minis are playable on PS3 also...didn't you notice the "saved data - minis" in the xmb ?
