I disagree. Leon had a confidence drawn from experience in both RE4 and RE:Degeneration. In RE2 he was freaked out, justifiably so, about what was going on. In RE4 and RE:D, he was more matter of fact about things.

Really, Leon and Chris are the equivilent of Ken and Ryu. Technically, they're the same guy with different heads and different voices. I just became a bigger fan of Leon when I played RE2 and things kept going bad for him. In RE4/RE5, both guys pretty much have the same bland personality. Not bad (to be honest, they remind me a lot of myself) but still pretty toned down for a video game character.
