I believe you're thinking of the HK factory part of the code, surely? Parts of the droid planet are there andn weirdly complete, yes, but huge choking swaths of it appear to have never existed, with placeholders being used when the data was reconstructed, like a shark serving as the AI core of the entire planet.

I'll grant that HK-47's dialogue hints at the droid factory, and most of the code for that was very much intact and rarin' to go if they had been willing ot sit down and implement it and fix bugs, but the droid planet never really existed unless I am gravely misinformed.

Well, since I can't seem to access Team Gizka's website (the men behind the Restoration Project) I can't confirm what I said, so you can probably be right as well.

Only thing I could find was in these links: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cut_content_from_Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_II:_The_Sith_Lords

And I though the list was shorter than that, to be honest.

It's very large, yes, but I don't think they intended to implement the droid planet at all after a certain point. It would just be part of the content tat was left on the cutting room floor as a natural part of the process, even if they had had ample time to fix everything else.

Eight months, though!

Eight.

I'm going to need to re-install Windows just so I can play the Restoration Project and cry myself to sleep.

You'll only do well to play the Restoration Project from scratch. The complete endings are nothing short of amazing, Team Gizka did a fine job.

Chrono should be so lucky. Fallout 1 and 2 are two of the best rpg's ever.

Obsidian today very different from the Black Isle days. Black Isle FTW, Obsidian can go hide in the biggest hole ever.

Havent played Alpha protocol so I can't comment on that, but KOTOR2 was good and Fallout New Vegas should be awesome as well. If nothing else it would be a very interesting change of pace. I'm all for it.

KOTOR 2 was half the game it was meant to be. Do yourself a favour and download the Restoration Project if you haven't yet. It pretty much gives you the entire KOTOR 2 experience, with an actual ending.

I give you that Fallout New Vegas is going to be amazing though, but not because of Obsidian. Jorge Oscuro is one of the lead developers for New Vegas. He's the creator of the best Oblivion mod ever created, OOO. Pretty much transformed Oblivion in one of the best WRPG experiences ever.

I didn't realise OOO was created by someone working at Obsidian! OK, this officially has me even more excited than ever for Fallout New Vegas! Btw, wasn't KoToR2s cut content due to publishers rushing them to market? I mean, you can't really blame the developers for that one and I think Square Enix would be more lenient on deadlines for a new Chrono Trigger.

OT: I don't think that it's that bad an idea neccessarily, but it is a very risky one. I have faith in Obsidian even after Alpha Protocol and they'd have a good base to work off of in Chrono Trigger so it could go either way.

Jorge Oscuro isn't a member of Obsidian per se, he was just contracted by Bethesda to wok with Obsidian in New Vegas due to his amazing work in the OOO mod. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Jorge_Salgado

I've been following New Vegas development closely solely due to him being there XD.

As I said, the biggest fault for the cut content was Lucasarts indeed, but Obsidian do have a share of the blame for it.

So he landed a job because of his work on OOO. Awesome!

The one I had installed (but never got around to finishing due to Windows bugging out on me) was by the other restoration team. Is Gizka's known to be better?

Well, I only played Team Gizka's restoration project, so I don't know if it's better or not. What I can tell you is that it's very complete and almost bug free (except the occasional weird dialog).

Yup, Bethesda was very smart with this move OOO was amazing, and from the look of Hardcore mode in New Vegas, it seems that a lot of the ideas that he implemented in OOO are being implemented in New Vegas as well.

I thought TG had never released theirs. Did you play the leaked beta?

Nope, I played the Restoration Project created by DarthStoney and Zbyl, two of the founders of Team Gizka, which used the assets that TG RP was using, so it was pratically the same RP in a sense. It's located here http://www.deadlystream.com/forum/downloads.php

Oh, the Restored Content Mod!

Then we had the same thing. Never you mind me!

It's nice that they've continued tweaking it over time, with the last update being just last month.

When I get windows running again, I'll be leaping right back into it.

Ahahah, nice to see we were talking about the same thing all this time

I have to download the last update too, it's been almost six months since I last played it.

Maybe this would prompt S-E to do something with this IP.
