Forums - Sony - PSN online gaming, why do so few use voice?

Also I don't know why people say they don't use a mic to escape little brats talking.

If you don't have a mic there voice comes out your TV instead, with or without a mic, you are going to hear them (unless you select a mute player option...which has nothgn to do with mic or not).

Yeah i've always found that rather strange and unnessacery ..

I only tend to turn on my mic when playing with friends.  I sometimes turn it on randomly, though never for fighters.

I'm not surprised no one uses it for Tekken 6, I mean you spend as little at 20 seconds kicking some peoples ass sometimes, then you go back to matchmaking, what are you meant to say in that 20 seconds to a stranger?

Whenever I fight people in Tekken with one all I usually hear is background music or them shouting because they just lost (or won but the lost is more common).

Also, on subject, keep in mind in Europe with so many different languages, sometimes it's just as pointless because we don't understand each other.

Hmm, pie.

I have a mic for ps3 but I nearly never use it. I didnt have to go out to buy one because its something that came with my cell phone. Its pretty awesome that ps3 is compatible with something like that.

People really dont need mics for games though.  In theory, I'm sure it can be helpful but the majority of the time people that have mics are extremely annoying and dont offer anything of value. I'm at the point where if I hear the crackling of someones mic in a game I immediately go to mute them. I'd say 95% of the time its someone that is just going to be aggrivating.

Because no one else does. It felt like talking to a wall then I played Uncharted 2 -.-

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

I don't use it if other people don't have a mic, and vice versa. Got the official PS Bluetooth hooked up to the USB personally.

No cross game voice chat is one reason. No good bundle with a game at an attractive price is another.

I don't play enough online to make the cost o a mic worth it. I borrow one sometimes  but never seem to talk much anyways.
