3 - 4

I went for 3.

If it was called Halo 4, then i would have gone 4 - 5.

Not a surprise ^^

What isn't?

@William Watts

ODST and even Wars are proof that a Halo that isn't numbered doesn't sell as well as a numbered Halo. Maybe Reach will break that trend... Who knows.

You hopefully know how flawed that argument ist.

Wars, yes. ODST, no

Let's just say because it has the same multiplayer as Halo 3 except for 1 extra mode and one mappack and it had a short campaign without any Spartans.

It was meant to be an expansion and then after adding more content it was made into a standalone game.

Still worlds apart from a new Halo release.

Point still stands. It was advertised hugely, and had a LOT of people who had already bought Halo 3, as potential buyers.

It still sold VERY well, ofcourse. But it did have quite a bit going for it, as well as going againt it.

Halo 3 had almost 4 million first week and ODST around 2-3 million.

I'd say maybe 4-5 million for this one. 6 plus is just crazy, I doubt it would do that.

Yeah, what I find most crazy is looking back and seeing nearly a 3rd of the userbase buy Halo 3 first week, if those people buy it, and a couple more million from the 30 million new buyers since then, 6 mill.

I think 5.2, but my range is 4.7 - 5.2

thats because the only reason people were buying the 360 was to play halo 3 :P

Yeah Halo 3 lifetime sales have only just reached what the userbase was back then, nice trolling.

Honestly what's new?

Halo ODST was over priced and not worth the full price,

ODST - 1 new mode with no matchmaking and a short campaign, expansion
VS
Reach - Huge new campaign on a new engine, new modes, main title, advertised a LOT more than ODST.

Really, only 3 mill?! that's only a 150k boost from 2007?!

Halo 3 has sold 8 million new copies in America, I expect around 3.8 mill from America

I am calling 7 million .

Your assumption is based on the idea that the general gaming population is composed of impulsive morons.

And they are not. Halo 3: ODST did not sell low for not being Halo 4. It's because gamers were not stupid and looked it up and they didn't want to buy it.

Haven't you learned that name does not sell alone? Remember how Playstation 3's sales hugely dropped from the previous generation even though its name was Playstation? Gamers do research on games and don't buy based on name alone.

interesting thread butt

why hasnt the thread creator included wars or odst in the tips section?

and why didnt he pimp the thread up by including a banner and box arts for the games mentioned?

and why is he arguing with I LOVE GIGGS whose WW guess of 4.6 is close to his own WW range
