Sony Computer Entertainment has defended 3D glasses, and expressed a desire to work alongside Nintendo to promote 3D.
Speaking in an interview with IGN, SCE's Worldwide Studios boss, Shuhei Yoshida expressed an interest in working with its rival to push the technology - though he wants Nintendo to stop bashing Sony's methods first.
"I have hope that they have a broader perspective with 3D," Yoshida said.
"When you listen to what they are saying about the effect of 3D perspective to the games, they are saying the same message we are, but they don't have to bash some small part of what the other company is doing," he added.
So far Nintendo's consistantly emphasised the 3DS' ability to create a 3D image without the need for glasses. NOA boss Reggie fils-aimes even made a sly dig at Sony's glasses on US television.
Yoshida reckons both companies should be friends. He said: "I think as an industry we should preach this new perspective, from a very large cinema screen to a small portable, because that helps advancing the games and the game industry.
"We'd like to work together to promote 3D"
Following the proposal of a rare partnership between the two rivals, Yoshida quickly got back on point and played down the potential intrusiveness of the glasses.
"If you really want a big theater experience, of course you have to wear glasses"
"With the latest technology, the glasses are light and you kind of forget you're wearing them after awhile."
Can't everybody just get along?

I find it funny that Sony wants to work with Nintendo to help promote 3D. If I was Nintendo I was say screw you Sony (remember the SNES CD). If you ask me, wearing 3D glasses is dumb and I would never buy a thousands of dollar TV that requires me to wear glasses.
