Forums - Gaming - Playstation Move UK pricing. Quite expensive.

this thread really requires a cost comparision table ala the cost comparision tables that showed the ps3 was less expensive than a 360.

I thought the 360s was more bang for your buck than PS3Slim?

As far as I'm aware a

360s = £199 250GBHDD, Built in Wifi.

PS3 Slim = £249 120gbHDD, Built in Wifi

PS3 Slim = £289 250gbHDD, Built in Wifi.

Not sure what you mean?

Interestingly it's a £10 deposit for preorder for Move Starter kit. Likewise a £10 deposit for Kinect. When asked in store at GAME for Kinects expected price you get the answer of, between £79.99 and £89.99.

I have just been on the game website and can pre-order the Move Starter Kit without a deposit.

Can I have a link for your claim that Move Starter Kit has a £10 deposit and that items under £100 have  a £10 deposit but over £100 have a £20 deposit?

Do tell me this, how do you know the price of Kinect? :S Baffles me cuz all leaks suggest 150 or so in US Dollars and now a retailer had it at an even higher value for UK if I'm not mistaken

So yes I dunno, which is more expensive at this point? and will the customers care? Sony can now adertise their produce in a manner such as

"Playstation Move, 'starting' at 49.99" and vs. "MS kinect 150"...go figure

GAME take preorders for £100 or more at £20 deposit. less than £100 is £10. Kinect is deposit of £10.

I know my local manager at GAME. I dont get 25% off my 360s for nothing. :)

But you can simply ask instore and they will tell you expected price of £79.99 - £89.99.

For example Move starter pack in US is $100. In UK is £50. They ( GAME ) has had every indication from M$ that the 2 region pricing strats will match the competition. Hence where the £79.99 - £89.99 pricing comes from.

Considering the brand new 360s is £199 in UK and $299 in US GAME are more than reliable here.

starter pack is not 100 bucks :S it's around 50 if my memory serves right (kinda sleepy now lol)

anywho I dunno about your local Game but there have been quite a few retailers taking in pr orders for 150 or so yes? Including the official MS store...even though I think it's a marketing tactic by MS, I seriously doubt it will be below $100

Like I said, you can't really do a comparison until it's final....and btw not all games require two Move controllers and we do not know al bundle options for Sony either...GC and TGS will tell

move starter pack is $100 which includes the camera, move controller, and a game.

kinect is rumored to be more expensive then $100 without a game.

oops my bad, I stand corrected :D like I said at work and sleepy lol thanks m8

Um. Hello?

I'm talking about UK price of Kinect.

Hence the £ sign?

If Kinect is $149.99 then £89.99 looks bang on for GAME's pricing strategy.

Move US = $100 plus added costs.

Kinect US = $149 no added costs.

Move UK = £49.99 plus added costs

Kinect UK = £ 89.99 no added costs.

I can pre-order the new 360s, which is £199.99, without any deposit at all. Did you just make up that deposit thing?

Well I was planning on spending about £110 on my Move, so let's actually wait for the price of the Kinect to be announced. As ShopTo have the price at £130 and GAME have it at £90, we can just guess that it will be £110, so they are the same price, happy now?

For me, the cost of Kinect would also have to include rearanging my living room so it is not just the price which is putting me off Kinect. Move is quite pricey, but my brother will pay for part of it, and I already have a game that I can enjoy with it, and there are few games which do interest me, something I can't say about Kinect

Any links with stores and/or consumers complaining about the price?

I ask this because from what I see stores in the UK seem to believe the Kinect is going to release at £124.86. This is according to ShopTo and they complain that the price is too high and thatthey want MS to lower it because pre-orders are "very low".

This is in the UK.

"We believe that with this current economy it should be around £70. For £140 you can buy a Wii.

"Pre-orders are very low," he added. "

"Cipolletta said that he has been told that Kinect's rumoured US pricing is correct, and based ShopTo's pricing on it"

Yeah but that isn't the point. Selnor is in here trying to act like the pricing of the Move is too expensive meanwhile Kinect is no better not to mention Kinect comes with no game as far as we know right now.

He says Kinect will be £79.99-89.99 but considering that no games will be patched for Kinect he needs to also add a Kinect game price on top of that, so it probably easily surpasses £100 just to get started while it is £50 to get started with Move.
