Well, they don't convert the same to US money. If I'm not mistaken, in Europe, the price of a PS3 is £299 (looking similar to the $299 price in the US). So, it doesn't directly translate to the American price

The price will be announced in August all current prices are placeholders including the one of the US Microsoft shop.
And for comparison £130 is equal to $195 ish.
The UK retail would want this to be £99 or $148 obvioulsy this price includes all taxes state or otherwise.

Not sure about your dollar conversion Selnor but like i said earlier these are most likely placeholders although that is a lot lower than anything I have seen and I think sounds a bit like wishfull thinking. It is a little early for leaks but stranger things have happened.
I expect it to be under £100 if it arrived at £80 or 90 that would cause a stir as that would be equal to $120-130 range which would normally indicate something a lot lower for the US shops probably $100-110. Please remember UK prices will include Value Added Tax of about 17.5% (soon to rise to 20% in January).
