HALO is a bit slow, should take off in august

GRAN TURISMO,MEDAL OF HONOUR,COD doing well

Not sure how you come to that conclusion...

Because Reach is tracking at almost identical rate as MW2 which as we all know is now the top selling 360 game.

And GT5 is tracking way below the top games this gen including Reach. GT5 is now at the 17th week mark. In it's 17th week Reach had 35k pre-orders. Meaning Reach was nearly x4 what GT5 got for their 17th weeks.

So i guess really it depends on what your definition of doing well is. On this forum we are lead to believe GT5 will beat Halo in sales, or at least be one of the bigger selling games this gen. Right now Reach has a 4:1 ratio over GT5.

Because US = world. When will you Americans learn that the world doesn't revolve around you? Noone ever claimed that GT5 will outsell Reach in US, maybe if you could fire guns while driving cars GT5 would have a chance... In Europe GT5 will crush Reach in the same ratio that Reach will have against GT in US, or even better and Japan is a no contest territory. Got it now?

GT5 would have to sell about 12 million in others alone to quadruple what Halo Reach is gonna sell, and that is not happening.  Got it?

so you think HALO REACH in US will outsell GT5 4:1 as thats what he was replying to as HALO REACH will outsell GT5 the same way GT5 will ousell HALO REACH

and 4:1 only came up because of the preorders atm in USA

Rather then keeping bumping the same quotes i will post a new one Snake.

GT5 while not given a specific date was given specific time frames. Pre-orders have been accepted for a longtime. I placed mine over a year ago. I am sure others are the same. Reach had it's official release date confirmed at the end of may, a month ago. But like with GT5 people could pre-order it long before then. Either way a month ago before it's date was confirmed it still had nearly 3x the pre-orders that GT5 has now after 2 weeks of having it's date confirmed. You can't spin that to defend GT5's numbers.

And of course Reach will sell more in US then anywhere else. US is the main region for the 360. It has 23m units there compared to 15m in others. But the attach rates are not too different. Halo 3 sold 8m in US. That means 34% of 360 owners bought Halo 3. In others it is 3m, meaning 20%.  If those numbers replicate for Reach then obviously the game will sell over 10m again. Sure Reach had a beta, i never got to play it. But GT5 has had a long time in the media sun, you would have to be living under a rock on mars to not know about it. We only saw gameplay footage/pictures of Reach recently.

The whole point of comparing the pre-orders is to see where each game is at a certain point in time. You can compare how well each do in comparison with one another. You can tell which games will sell well based on these because if over a long period of time they have been gaining pre-order numbers then chances are it will sell well. If it is not gaining pre-orders in line with the big selling games then chances are it will not sell as well as those games. Right now GT5 is not getting as many pre-orders as other top selling games have had. As the weeks go by those numbers will increase. But it needs to start getting a lot more pre-orders.

With those numbers we can see what is happening in US. We obviously don't have any numbers for europe but to expect it to sell xyz there is assumption.

The 4 to 1 ratio is on pre-orders in US....

But say that happens through to real sales and Reach does sell in US at 4 to 1.

Do you think GT5 will sell at 4 to 1 over Reach in europe?

Because if these pre-orders follow through into real sales then that is what it will have to do just to get on par with Reach's sales worldwide.

Me personally i think that is expecting too much. The next few weeks will be very interesting as i think we can see a pattern already emerging from the GT5 supporters. A few weeks ago it was going to sell loads worldwide including in US, now it seems their faith is being put in europe sales. It is a pity we will not know those figures until release.

I'm surprised Medal of Honor is doing so well,in the pre-order charts. lol

Most of the people who pre-oder at the start are the hardcore gamers who follow news as they know the dates to expect a title release, most hardcore gamers knew even they couldn't predict when GT5 would launch so pre-orders didn't happen

HALO reach was announced last year for this year release and MS hardly misses its date

yeah if GT5 would be getting good pre-orders build up if it was releasing the fallowing year it was announced but its release date was not changed alot of time and so people wouldn't pre-order and wait for the date as their prediction had failed alot of time

its like there is no use of pre-ordering in 2006 and have the product in 2010,better wait for the product's official release date

And of course Reach will sell more in US then anywhere else. US is the main region for the 360. It has 23m units there compared to 15m in others. But the attach rates are not too different. agian HALO REACH didn't have a big COD competition when it launched.GT5 has had its media for a long time but everybody knew that the media didn't show GT5 release date anywhere soon.REACH footage has been shown from a long time after VGA 2009 AWARDS.

The whole point of comparing the pre-orders is to see where each game is at a certain point in time. You can compare how well each do in comparison with one another. yes but we can't know how much it will sell in the following weeks after its launch because of the competition and what pre-orders GT5 would be at if its release date was announced aerlier

and also the fact that GT5 release has more time than HALO REACH

With those numbers we can see what is happening in US. We obviously don't have any numbers for europe but to expect it to sell xyz there is assumption.

No I don't think Halo Reach will outsell GT5 4:1 in America.

i know 4:1 ratio is on pre-orders in US

i am not saying GT5 will outsell HALO REACH 4:1 but i din't say that HALO will outsell GT5 4:1 in US as it won't,these are just preorder charts not sales

these pre-orders follow into real sales but they don't tell us the following:

how the followup sales will be

how GT5 releasing at a later date will perform to a game releasing earlier

what pre-orders would GT5 have if date announced earlier like HALO REACH

what GT5 pre-orders would be if GT5 2010 RELEASE date was announced from start and if people didn't actually wait for the release to come near to make pre-order

GT5 will perform well in US too but not like Europe thats what GT5 fans are saying

THATS what that guy meant that GT5 will outsell HALO reach to similar HALO REACH does to GT5 in US

4:1 outselling was what Hyruken mentioned the sales would be depending upon pre-orders
