Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Greenberg: Milo is a tech demo, not planned for release

so it was fake after all..

Except for all the people who actually played with Milo at last year's E3?

It wasn't fake but perhaps it just never ended up being a good, you know, game.

Milo tech 'went into Kinectimals' - MS

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=253739

It doesn't specify if the tech went, but definitely research and lessons were passed on by Petey.

The point is that for Milo Kinect promised advanced AI interactions, where in Kinectimals you have an HD version of Nintendogs, which is actually less advanced than the DS title.

What Milo promised was deeper immersion in games due to the ability to interact with the game via a natural user interface, ie the body, voice, and face.  From what I have read about Kinectimals, it utilizes all of these concepts.

Yes, so does the ballon game where you knock down the bricks... waggle your body, do headbutt and call BALL for a new ball. Groundbreaking concepts.

Advanced AI that interacts with you and should represent a real human doesn't equal Nintendog. Nintendog's have all the features that were shown for Kinectimals, and more. That's no way near to what was promised in that fake Milo demo.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Now you know that this post will get categorically ignored, right?

Dont people see Milo all over Kinectimals?  Surely some of the concepts for Milo were used in Kinectimals.

no as EYEPET,NINTENDOGS is what KINECTIMALS is like

MILO is where you interact and where a far higher AI is needed

the tech could end up for tracking the player by the aniamls like EYEPET AND NINTENDOGS

but Kinectimals i nowhere near what MILO promised, man scientists haven't developed  such AI with government spending .how the hell could they.you could have robots if we had AI like that

no they just couldn't have done it.

Like David Cage of Heavy Rain said, Microsoft LIED to us last E3 2009!

Microsoft lied to us about a game technology that does not even exists.

I pity so many blind gamers and journalists that continue to WILLINGLY allow themselves to be fooled by  this monstrous decepticons! XBOX 360 is a big POS joke!

Will the PS3 be the first and most successful multi-million selling piracy & hack-free console of all time?

Anyone really surprised about this? The whole thing was scripted from the start.

Anybody surprised by this needs to further develop their critical thinking skills.

The concepts in Milo were actually quite simple.  You guys were reading far to into it.  Pete has stated on many occasions that he wasn't creating the most advanced AI ever created.  He was creating something that seemed like the most advanced AI ever created, using tricks.  The animals in Kinectimals will recognize your face, voice, and will interact with you via your body.  These are all things that the Milo tech demonstrated.  The only difference here is the idea of having a conversation.

And I am unfamiliar with Nintendogs, what features are you saying are not here?
