Looks good, kinda funny that they show you pretty much the final and most important moment in the trailer.

I hope it's good, last three were decent, not great, but at least they were an improvement over the sucking crap that Azkaban was...OotP was the best of those. I really hope they do the book justice, maybe by splitting the movies they'll be able to do that and not cut important parts of the book that make or break it (I'm looking at YOU, Azkaban)

What did they cut from Azkaban?  I can think of a few alterations, but that's about it (like Harry seeing the Grim in the sky rather than seeing Sirius in the stands at the Quidditch match, which is a fairly nonsensical change).

Azkaban is by and large considered to be the best film in the series.  It has such a grim, haunting atmosphere, excellent pacing, and it covers all the primary plot points perfectly.

None of the other films stayed as true to the source material while also providing such an exciting experience near as well as Azkaban.

The Goblet of Fire was damn near an incoherent mess because they tried to cram so much into so little time, the Order of the Pheonix felt like the Sparknotes version of the book, and they still managed to leave out entire plotlines (Dobby, etc.), and in the Half-blood Prince they not only removed numerous parts (half the relevant Voldemort memories) but somehow found the time to add in other completely made up stuff like the burning of the Burrow.

My biggest issue with 4/5 was how weakly they built up Harry and Sirius's relationship, culminating in a five second death scene at the end Pheonix.  They did such an injustice to one of my favorite characters, especailly considering they built him up so well in Azkaban.

They cut out all the freaking story of the Marauders...left barely 1 minute of explanations that barely tells anything, it was my favorite chapter of all the 7 books, and I was so eager to see that in action. Harry finding Pettigrew in the Map makes no sense at all, the Quidditch cup was all taken out (it's very important to see Harry winning it, again, one of the best moments in the book when Harry is lifting the cup, remember he feels "the happiest he's ever been" or something like that -I read it in Spanish-), and to make up for it they add the Firebolt in the last scene?

The dementors itselves are quite ridiculous, they look nothing like they are described in the book, the clothes the kids use show a lack of reading of the book (they fucking use muggle clothes during all the school days), Lupin's actor is horrible, same with Trelawney.

They basically cut half the book out, a book that was so tightly constructed that it's amazing how everything is related to everything, how there isn't a single piece that doesn't fit in the puzzle. I know that translating the entire book over to the film was impossible, but if you're gonna waste time of the film in stupid things like how the bus gets thin or how Harry does acrobacies on Buckbeak, and then you cut out the fucking Marauders story...it's unexcusable

It's cool that they are doing it in two parts but I wish they shot both of them at the same time. I really don't want to wait another year while they edit Part 2. It would be way cool as a double feature.

This is a bit off topic but still HP related. It's a shame the games are going to be split into two parts as well. I've always wondered why they base the games off the movies and not the books. There would be more content in the games if the developers did that.

Opening day for both. Like all the others :)

I just wonder how will the split works, part 1 ending with cheesy cliffhanger? Hope not... I just hope it's better than the last two, even with my low standarts for a mainstream book adaptations, the last one was seriously disappointing.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

hopefully they stay pretty true to the books, the other films have been decent enough, not as good as the books though of course

i agree, i didnt like azkaban it was so boring,(ive only read book 6 and 7 thoughXD) but ireally didnt like azkaban at all ,though i havent read book 5 , the film does fill rushedout

I predict raging people at the end of Part 1 =P But it's a very good idea to make two parts, so they don't cut so much information.

I'll watch this,as I've seen all the other movies. I haven't read the books though.lol

i hope its in 3D!
