When I brought home my PS2 on launch night and was playing Madden, my brother asked me why there was a game on so late. At that time, it was just silly beautiful, of course now, it's horrid.
My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

WTF? How is she a zombie? |
Zombie eyes (soulless and they don't sit properly on her head, nor does the reflections look anything but glazed over and zombified!). Zombie mouth, Zombie haircut... Neck is way out of proportion of the rest of her body. That there is the face of ugly!
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
F1 championship made it look like you were watching TV.
In Assassins Creed when I rode just to Dalmascus, and saw the whole city of the cliff my jaw dropped, although that was not just the graphics but the scale of it. (it looked even better when my horse reared)
The daddy of all of these is of course Uncharted, especially the water effects. When I played the demo (chapter 4) and got to that waterfall, it was the most beautiful experiences in gaming ever.
Also the Final Fantasy (X, X-2, XII + KHs) FMVs, although I suppose they don't count because they are not in engine
let's see....
super mario bros, metroid, super mario 3, donkey kong country, super mario world, wave race, super mario 64, golden eye, Mortal Kombat 2/3, killer instinct, civilization III, Battlefield 2, Gears of war...
These are games that made me say wow at the time. Probably many more, but it is all relative to its time.
