I was just wondering if anyone has played the multiplayer beta for Medal of Honor 2010?  If so, what were your impressions?  I don't usually pre-order games so I wanted to know what others felt about it.  Thanks

I've never had interest in Medal of Honor because really since I knew DICE was makng the Mutliplayer and that Bad Company 2 is a very good game, I decided that later this year I'll just get Bad Company 2 over Medal of Honor.

Then a few days ago fellow member SpartanOmega was giving away Beta codes and so I though this was the perfect opportunity to see whether I should be interested in MOH and he was happy to give me one and my god I'm glad he was gave me the code.

It's really good. The gunplay is great, the controls are great (exactly like MW2 layout and that's great for me) and overall it's real good fun to play the game.

But here are some common issues found in the beta:

1) It freezes you PS3 occasionally. I've only ever experienced the freeze once while playing Team Deathmatch but other players have reported that they've yet to complete a full match because their PS3s were freezing.

2) Lag. This is the only gripe about the beta right now. When you get killed, there's this sudden lag which irritates me a little. But I haven't experienced overal lag where it reaches the stage where it's unplayable. Some people have reported that there is significant lag but I have yet to notice that and the only form of lag I experience is when I get killed.

Sure this is only just a beta but freezing PS3s is not cool. Right now EA has released a Patch for the NA beta players and I've still waiting for the European Patch to come live. The patch is supposed to fix the following problems:

1) People getting kicked out of the match without reason.

2) Prevent PS3s from freezing

Overall I can tell you that it's shaping up to be a really good game and hopefully the lag and freezing problem disappears so that I can spend more time on the beta. Now I'm leaning towards buying Medal of Honor over Bad Company 2.

Well I have played a few hours, which have been hampered by freezing, but I think that has been fixed, last time I played I didn't have any issues.

Overall... it is quite good. I only played the beta of Bad Company, and I was not convinced by it, it is too open for me, and I just couldn't get into it much... I didn't buy the game in the end because the SP was meant to be quite average as well. MoH is a closer quarters game which I like, though it is larger scale than CoD.

There are 2 modes one is basically a team deathmatch, which is quite fun, but it needs spawn points to be improved. The other is an objective mode which I think is better, though I am still trying to get my head around it

It is quite fun, but there are still a few bugs around. Quite frequently I have to shoot people about 10 times before they die, and there is often a little lag, and my headshots with my sniper aren't quite coming off even when I am convinced I have nailed it.

It shares a similar type of progression to CoD, but it is split into 3 classes. There are riflemen, special ops and sniper. You level them up individually and you get things like new weapons red dots etc which seems good, but it is not as well laid out as CoD and just needs a lot more polish

It also looks quite poor in many areas. The textures are particularly poor, but the smoke effects are good, it does just need a lot more work

I am definitely going to buy the game when it comes out. The single player looks great from the previews, and with a bit of work the multiplayer can also be great

I got a code and now I want to return it, sure I'm biased against FPSs but this one is the worst. It's laggy as fuck and random teleportations for the fail, you are walking, minding your own business when the game teleports you back 20 yards and into a wall, whilst you are wondering wtf happened, some dude shoots you in the back ¬_¬ I know it's a beta but it's not doing it for me like the Mag Beta did it for me.

I have seriously only had that literally once ever, but almost nothing like that at all

This game is'nt going to sale nothing. Just ax the franchise already. I remember when this franchise was actually good back in the ps1 era. The only reason medal of honor went to the modern era was because of COD. This game will be lucky to get a fraction of the COD MW2 sales. lol
