Worried about the Wii in Others... I'm thinking NSMB Wii couldn't sustain the hardware in this region like it did for US / Japan, so it has nowhere to go but down now. Wii Party may help a bit, but their other main games (DK, Kirby, Zelda, MSM, etc), like 2D Mario, will probably be skewed toward the US / Japan regions.

At this point, I'm thinking their only hope for a real hardware pusher in Others is the Vitality Sensor, but we haven't heard anything about it in a while. Without something like this for the holidays, I don't know... sales may end up looking pretty weak compared to last year.

I've never understood how Wii Sports sales can be lower than Wii hardware sales in a given week for EMEAA or the Americas?  Is VGC tracking refurbs that don't have the game with it or something?  Wouldn't any manufacturer refurb have to include the game again regardless? :/

Also, yikes at Peace Walker.  lol @ 3 million... if they wanted those sorts of sales, they should've done the game on Wii or PSN/XBLA instead, and probably kept the "5"...

The Wii will go down, and down and down...black Wii did something, WSR WFP NSMBW did something, the price cut did something...but now what should Nintendo do? A price cut with the exchange Euro/Yen would kill the profits, a new colour would unlikely push the sales, more bundles would do little as long as the franchises are the same as ever (Mario Galaxy 2 did about nothing for hardware sales).

I don't know if I was Iwata what should I do other than developing a new system without the problems who affected Wii (little power compared to the other consoles, no third party support, too easy to pirate, no demos, bad online, no HD...).

The only thing I can think would push the sales would be an upgrade of the Wii, like they did with the DSi: it worked, even if the bigger power was useful just for the internal browser. But Nintendo knows more than us the current situation, I'm quite sure we'll see Wii 2 at E3 2011 if the sales continue going down like this.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Because in some asian countries Wii doesn't come with Wii Sports (like in japan). Probably same with South America.

Things will get interesting for the next few weeks, particularly for the Xbox 360 (slimmer console/price clearances on older models). It'll likely outsell the PS3 for a good portion of the Summer, with a price cut on the Arcade and Slimmer 360 models of $50 in the Fall, to coincide with Kinect's offering ($149 Arcade without Kinect/$349 Slim 360 including Kinect - to keep it $50-$150 cheaper than the PS3's Move Bundle and the arcade $150 cheaper than a regular $299 PS3), while Kinect will probably sell for $100 on it's own (I've always doubted that $150 price). It'll be up YoY, while things will probably be flat or just a tad above for the PS3 and Wii.

They'll probably be some other bundles of sorts for the 360 & PS3 - $349 Halo Reach Themed Xbox 360 Slim Bundle (possibly two controllers bringing it to $399, but it'll be without Kinect) being one and a $349 GT5 PS3 Bundle (also being without Move).

It'll be interesting to keep an eye on 360 HW vs SW sales and ratios to get an idea how much is upgrading vs new purchase.  I'm quite amazed at how many 360 owners (either from evidence such as pre-orders on trade-ins) to many of my own friends are going to get a Slim.  Of course the same thing happened with the PS3, but I think we might see an even high percentage for the 360.

HW spikes with lower SW spikes may give some insight into who's buying new and genuinely adding to the install base to buy SW and who's simply changing model.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It's hard to gauge this, as most repeat buyers still recirculate their old systems (traded in, resold themselves or given to friends/family) which keeps tie ratios healthy.  Iwata's actually talked about this phenomenon before with regards to DS... the "core" buy each iterative update, but they recirculate their old system to people who might not necessarily go out and buy a "new" system (but still may purchase new games).

It isn't MGS5 though, just like KH:BBS could be KH3 but isn't.

We will journey with Snake to his final end in MGS5

It *is* MGS5, just like how BBS *is* KH0. ;)

No it isn't, that was called people trying to hype up PSP games.

Face the facts!

No it isn't, it's called management hedging their bets because Kojima/Nomura want to "throw away" resources on PSP. ;)
