Ha that's awesome for DOA. As for serious system, I hope we fully understand what he is meaning but I could see in some respects how DS could have been more of an "introductory" system leading up to the next phase. Could say similar things about Wii. Of course if we think about that sales wise, 3DS could be the biggest thing since sliced bread haha.

More or less. It's Team Kunai (DOA3/4, Ninja Gaiden 1-2/Black, Other M), Team Kunochi (DOA Xtreme 1-2, DOA Ultimate, DOA Paradise, Ninja Gaiden DS) and Team Sigma (Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1-2).
I remember Cammie in a interview with Gametrailers saying that Nintendo is trying to get people who never bought a handheld to buy the 3DS. I never bought a handheld and I'm looking forward to the 3DS.

Actually that kind of "serious" games things scary me about the 3DS, sure it seems to be a great device but i don't see too much original title that will make the non hard gamer buy it. At this point i see nothing fresh as nintendogs or brain training to gather new people. I really hope Nintendo can surprise again in this field, else i see them have the same issue as the HD consoles that are target to a too specific audience.
But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.
I fully support the 3DS as a serious system, but we all know Nintendo will keep with the Blue Ocean strategy in attracting the mothers, grandmothers, and sisters of "serious" gamers. Henceforth, you will have some grumbling from the self dubbed "hardcore" gamers.
The Nintendo 3DS will be a smashing success because it is bringing in new technology to gaming as the Wii did. Furthermore, with Sony on the ropes and I myself highly doubting whether the executives at Sony will fund a PS4 after the debacle of the PS3 in comparison to the PS2 and PS1, the 3DS is the equivalent of a thermonuclear bomb being dropped on Sony. Or the final nail in the coffin.
Hmm they must be at least partially scared about iphone and other smartphones taking some of the shovelware market they had with DS so now they run to hardcore gamers for rescue.
It's like a return of prodigal son ;)

Kind of makes sense. There is only a couple million left in Sony's gaming division. They have lost ALL the money they made from the Ps1 and ps2 era.
