I fully support the 3DS as a serious system, but we all know Nintendo will keep with the Blue Ocean strategy in attracting the mothers, grandmothers, and sisters of "serious" gamers. Henceforth, you will have some grumbling from the self dubbed "hardcore" gamers.
The Nintendo 3DS will be a smashing success because it is bringing in new technology to gaming as the Wii did. Furthermore, with Sony on the ropes and I myself highly doubting whether the executives at Sony will fund a PS4 after the debacle of the PS3 in comparison to the PS2 and PS1, the 3DS is the equivalent of a thermonuclear bomb being dropped on Sony. Or the final nail in the coffin.
