How do they do Dance Central without full skeletal pickup?
I guess they could downgrade it to Wand movements, but isnt that losing the appeal of what Dance Central is?

How exactly do you expect one Motion Plus to track two arms and two legs? The best you can do with a Wii Remote is something like Just Dance. If you want to develop a more realistic dancing game you necessarily need more sensors - or a camera like Playstation Move / Microsoft Kinect. |
I'm guessing a suit will have to be warn if you want to track the legs on PS3. And it will have balls on it the same colour as the Wand.
There is a reason the wand has a coloured ball on it. So it can be picked up in 3d space.
I love Let's Dance, but I stopped reading here "One of the of the most important games of E3, Dance Central"
LOL!

I don't see how you can count anything made by Harmonix that was that well implemented and fun to play as shovelware. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Sony full body tracking is not in 3d space. It's a 2d space zone. Which has issues for all the dance moves. Either they change the game for Move or you have to wear a suit with coloured balls. It's the coloured ball that allows the Move camera to interperet depth. 3d. The reason why Kinect doesnt need this is the infrared and the software to read the infrared track 1:1 movement in realtime 3d.

This.
I know this is going to be controversial and stuff, but Move and Kinect both have their strengths and limitations. THIS game is all about Kinect strengths. A Move version would likely be downgraded so much that it would actually hurt sales and the reputation of the Move.
The only way either new motion controller can succeed is if they recognize the strengths and limitations of each and completely AVOID game types that highlight the limitations.

So there's no reason PS3 Eye and Move can't.
If this goes to ps3, there goes my only reason I had to even consider the kinect/xbox in the future (my gf loved the demo shown at E3 and to a lesser extent so did I)
About the wii thing 'shrugs' dunno..I can't imagine this game working without a camera, simple as that

i'm not disagreeing that Kinect is more advanced but Move just might be capable enough to port the game. Can't say i'm exactly aware of what output Move gives or how Harmonix would digest. The only thing that is certain is with the way they built the game to track the full body - motion plus just isn't enough information. Move is a maybe, i'll guess we'll find out when a port either is or is not announced.
