They can always stick to the trees argument.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

If the c-64 can do dashboard, so can the PSP.

Wow, you pull out a Test Drive pic XDDD
Funny enough though, that dashboard is probably pushing most of the graphical definition of the game. And the game only has five cars and one track/field for five similar stages
In that aspect then I guess the 360 is also to fault. Forza 2 didn't have dashboards as well
And some PC sims like Toca Race Driver 3 are also to fault because they didn't have dashboards as well. Oh my, how the mighty PC has fallen.
Seriously, that's your best argument?

Perhaps you misunderstand me. I am a huge fan of GT as I have played through all of its iterations. Played through all of the Forza games too but GT is still my favorite by far. The news of GT5 possibly not having dashboard/interior cam was quite a bummer for me because I have grown so fond of the view in GT5p and Forza 3. All I am trying to say this is good news but I am still skeptical because a less detailed interior view could be a view like the PSP GT. Really has nothing to do with the power of the system. It’s all about the resources and time and if after 6 years of development there is no dashboard view for 80% of the cars I will be disappointed. But, this will not stop me from buying and enjoying the game.

On gametrailers they are complaining about GT5 becoming too bloated with too many features.
OT: I'm not gonna take this as confirmation since it's not from Kaz, but I won't give up hope. Ah hell what do I care once the viper is premium :)

I understand what you mean, but in the end it is about what you can squeeze out from the platform you're working with. PD probably could have done dashboards on GT4 too, but with the PS2 power, the best they could come up with would be the same blackened dashboard. That's why GT4 suffered in the physics department too, there's just so much that can be done.
That's why I referred to GT5p's Suzuki Cappuccino and it's implementation of a proper dashboard/cockpit cam. Granted, we don't know what will be the premium cars, but the info tidbits and videos released with Premium car selection have shown that Premium car category range from mid-high tier production cars to proper LMP and racing cars. And the Suzuki Cappuccino model was pretty much an upgraded GT4 model, fit to the specifications of the new graphical engine for GT5 too. Which is the definition for Standard cars, as it is on the official GT site.

Yes, I agree with the GT5p's Suzuki Cappuccino. Heck, there was even a rear view of back seat in all the cars in GT5p which is more than Forza 3 has. But the standard car video from the GT website has all of the standard cars with blacked-out windows which concern me. As for the GT4 models being reused, this really doesn’t bother me. They were already fantastic looking in 1080i. Smooth out the edges and update some textures and I'll be happy. Sound effects on the other hand do not sound improved as some of the V8 cars in the standard car video sound like a vacuum cleaner.

Yup, this is kinda noticeable in not only standard cars, but also premium cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia. I don't know if it's due to bad sound capture (because the sounds in GT5p were pitch perfect) in videos or the proper sounds haven't been correctly implemented on the current builds.
Hopefully it is indeed fixed for the final release

Thats what I was thinking too, everything sounded good in GT5p. Mabey that standard video was some kind of a joke or something. I've noticed that it is no longer linked on the GT site. Perhaps they realized this and removed the video.
Here is hoping everything is fixed in the final release too.
Is it offical now that there is no cockpit cam on the 800 standard cars?
