Perhaps you misunderstand me. I am a huge fan of GT as I have played through all of its iterations. Played through all of the Forza games too but GT is still my favorite by far. The news of GT5 possibly not having dashboard/interior cam was quite a bummer for me because I have grown so fond of the view in GT5p and Forza 3. All I am trying to say this is good news but I am still skeptical because a less detailed interior view could be a view like the PSP GT. Really has nothing to do with the power of the system. It’s all about the resources and time and if after 6 years of development there is no dashboard view for 80% of the cars I will be disappointed. But, this will not stop me from buying and enjoying the game. |
I understand what you mean, but in the end it is about what you can squeeze out from the platform you're working with. PD probably could have done dashboards on GT4 too, but with the PS2 power, the best they could come up with would be the same blackened dashboard. That's why GT4 suffered in the physics department too, there's just so much that can be done.
That's why I referred to GT5p's Suzuki Cappuccino and it's implementation of a proper dashboard/cockpit cam. Granted, we don't know what will be the premium cars, but the info tidbits and videos released with Premium car selection have shown that Premium car category range from mid-high tier production cars to proper LMP and racing cars. And the Suzuki Cappuccino model was pretty much an upgraded GT4 model, fit to the specifications of the new graphical engine for GT5 too. Which is the definition for Standard cars, as it is on the official GT site.
