If you look at http://www.game.co.uk/ front page, who are the biggest gaming store in UK (probably europe too) they have so much stuff on there about Kinect. Huge pictures for everything 360. Then at the bottom there is this tiny picture for Move.

So while Amazon can't be used as a tester for how each will do i think Game can be. Because they are obviously pushing Kinect harder then they are Move. Which obviously means they have more faith in it to make them money.Which is what it is all about.

The haters can hate and try and have a go but what the op say's is basically correct. All sources lead to there being more pre-orders for Kinect. Even on this website the two games that come with each platform have Kinect Sports ahead of Champions in pre-orders.

I am starting to think Move is going to bomb hard. The media are hyping Kinect a lot. There are news stories even on the main news here, have not seen a thing for move. Sony need to start generating awareness for it bigtime.

360 is huge in the UK, here in Norway you'll find that the 360 gets less shelfspace, media coverage and general love than the PS3 for instance, the Wii is not getting a whole lot of attention either. So this varies. As it stands, the 360 is huge in in NA and UK but only decent in most of the world and very, very poor in Japan whereas the Wii is pretty much big everywhere and the PS3 is decent in NA and pretty big in the rest of the world. Like I said; the UK is not representative for all of Europe, there's a reason its being singled out as a market on its own, almost like an entire territory.

If you look at europe this year your see PS3 is only about 180k ahead of 360. Europe likes 360 just as much as PS3. If the 360 continues to sell at it's current rate in europe it will surpass PS3 sales there for the year in a few weeks.

The whole "only UK like 360" thing is false as just pointed out above.

However in europe obviously the biggest market is UK. Lot's of sales there. If Kinect sells well in US and UK that means it will be selling to 2 of the 3 top selling countries in the world. Move will obviously beat Kinect in Japan. But if current Japanese trends are anything to go by Move will need a lot more then Japans numbers to beat US and UK's Kinect numbers.

Oh, I'm not making a case for Move, I think Move will crash and burn. But I think people are being premature about the 360 and Kinect having incredible sale worldwide this year and holiday season based on pre order sales of the Slim and pre orders of Kinect, doubly so when it has one region with virtually no sales and another (EMEEA) that traditionally purchases a lot less software and hardware (360 and Wii especially) than NA despite being both a bigger economy and a much bigger population. Its not only the UK that likes the 360, but it is considerably more popular there than in the rest of the EMEEA regions which was my whole point.

Its not only Norwegians that love cross country skiing (I hate it btw) but we love it a lot more than the rest of Europe.

Do you really think the the amazon charts based on facts?

It's all marketing.

Going by this Amazon argument

PS3 is @ no.12

360 is @ no.18

therefore PS3 should outsell 360.....hows that?(LOL)

BTW Kinect not even in top30 anymore......it's sure is destroying every thing eh?

Are there any other sources that can give us an idea of the Kinect preorders?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

As the chartz are based on hourly sales, items will move up and down based on the time of day. You can get an idea of trends based on the time in the top 100 and by watching the charts during peak purchasing periods for your given country. Unfortunately beyond this rather subjective analysis of the success or otherwise of the product it has little real value.

I think what I can take from the UK version of Amazon is that the Kinect products and games are all doing well in there respective categories. Unfortunately it is difficult to make comparisons with other Amazon country specific sites as they do not all categorise in the same way and in the case of the Kinect sensor not all the EU Amazon stores appear to even have the items on preorder.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

this thread is a joke...do you really base the success based on this kind of information?

The Amazon sales are a small part of the bigger picture, nothing more. That said I would not dismiss any valid source of sales information out of hand. The problem with the Amazon numbers are when they are misapplied which it sounds like was the case for this article.
