You are attempting to incite arguments and specifically insults and you don't see how that is trolling? I don't know that it could be any more clear.

Technically that be more flame baiting then trolling.

Said strategy requires being in an inebriated state. Which, unlucky for me, tends to be more often than it should Of course I see how it's trolling.

What's the inebriated meter at now?

Wow, what's the argument now, that computers should have breathalyzers hooked up to them?

"Dreadnought Purple Coins" Try to memorize the locations of the cannons and the purple coins. Also, avoid the temptation to get the Super Mushroom, as you're pretty much guaranteed to fail this one after getting hit once. "Kamella Daredevil Run" *E* My "advice" for this one was rather rude. I'll just say that I can't really help with this one. "Dreadnought Secret Garbage Star" I'll admit this one had me stumped for a while. You see those little gold circles that turn into coins? Try to throw the Bob-ombs onto them. They're positioned in a way that should get all of them. "Bonefin Galaxy" Find where the red shell spawns, it makes this a LOT easier. Also, make it a habit to go up for air between hits, and don't trust any treasure chests unless you already know what's in them. "Luigi's Purple Coins" This one seems to be unnecessarily frustrating for people, so I'm going to give more tips for it than the others: Don't let the timer freak you out. It's only there so they had an excuse to include more than the usual 100 coins. Do NOT get every coin in the first group. The star appears on the starting platform, and you'll need a way to get there. JUMP from coin to coin. That way you can get yourself out of any corner you accidentally back yourself into. For the clusters of five coins that are floating over the death pit: Jump towards the middle one, then spin back onto "land" IMMEDIATELY as you hear the sound confirming you got it. You might not get them all, but don't worry. Don't rely too heavily on the coins that you need the long jump to get, you'll most likely miss a lot of them. "Bouldergeist Daredevil Run" This is another "don't get freaked out" star. Remain calm and wait until you are absolutely sure you've avoided all the rocks he throws before collecting Bomb Boos. As long as you're watching Bouldergeist, that's generally the only thing that hits you. Hopefully this advice helps you and anyone else having problems with these. |
With the dreadnought purple coins you don't have to make one mad dash for it, the moving platforms come back so you can stand, wait, and take a breather on any of the platforms that do not move, you can also jump back onto the still platforms if you happen to miss a coin on any of the moving ones. You can reverse jump onto the square block with the face to the coins on top of him and at thte very top of the level there is platform with 8 coins on it but don't rush around to get them, stand at the very edge and wait for the bomb to pass get a few and repeat until u have them, then wait for a moving platform, It's actually a fairly easy level if you don't keep rushing ahead.
I don't know how you have a problem with Bonefin Galaxy, takes me about 90 seconds.Get the red mucshroom, geta green or red shell just keep swimming in circles until you find him and smash the shell ur swimming with into him, then swim down, get another shell, get a coin or air bubble and repeat.

I don't think I have insulted him, so I don't see how you would think that I am falling into a trap. If by responding to people on a message board I am falling into a trap, then didn't you fall into my trap?
Keeping track of all the arguments I'm in is making my head hurt!

Huh? I got 120 stars, and it was incredibly for me to do so. (Took only 20 hours I and I wasn't even trying to beat it quickly). I'm in the process of going through the second play through and while it is more difficult its still extremely easy for me (currently at 55 stars) but I don't have nearly the same motivation to play since I can still remember most of the stars. Why the heck are you assuming that those calling the game too easy haven't gotten 120 stars? Furthermore, if your talking about GOTY how can you not consider the lack of difficulty options to be anything but a drawback? Most titles now have difficulty options even when all those options do is double, triple, or quadruple enemy HP (such as MP3). Other games put more effort into difficulty options and actually improve enemy AI or otherwise significantly increase the challenge (such as Halo with its options and skulls). Granted, AI and enemy HP aren't big factors in the platforming genre, but why can't I unlock the ability to freely apply prankster comet properties such as double enemy speed or daredevil to any stage I choose? While I don't think the paucity of difficulty options is a significant drawback (SMG is still my favorite game for this year), I don't see why so many people are trying to pretend as if it doesn't exist. |
seems there was a bit of a misunderstanding, I (and i believe misteromar too) were both refering to a guy a few posts up who made that point after 60 stars, i wasn't saying everyone will find it hard, just that particular person wasn't judging its difficulty fairly
Hope that clears it up
