Forums - Sony - John Koller talks about PSN Plus + Cross Game chat

why didn't they mention these features in E3 ? (+all these games they announced AFTER it) jeez sony really gave too much of their E3 time to EA.

i don't know how they're going to use Steam, is it going to be a PC PS3 cross platform?

So, we'll have cross-game chatting when more PS3 games with STeamworks arrive?  Is this correct ??

Around the Network

Joystiq jumped the gun there.  Cross game voice chat has yet to be officially announced as part of the new PSN, and speculation is they're waiting to see how popular the new service is before deciding whether they should make the feature available for everyone or not.  Probably due to the incredibly negative reactions to the idea of charging for CGVC we've seen since the rumors started.

He basically said "I'm not in a position to talk about CGVC at this time" when he was asked about it.

The bit about Steamworks integration is interesting, but it sounds like it's only an issue for Valve's titles, which makes sense.

Koller has mastered the art of talking for several minutes without saying anything that is essential if you work in PR or marketing.

Watch the video again. He didn't say anything except "we can't reveal any information about that" and "post on PS Blog Share".
