Anyways, I'm Vega.

We can have tons to go on if everyone reveals their character name.

And, if SciFiBoy is right, then alignment is not necessarily dependent on character.  We could have an evil Guile or a good Balrog.

There are two scenarios here. Either names are linked to role (likely) and this reveals too much too fast, or they aren't and we get absolutely nothing. There is a middle ground where someone is dumb enough to claim a name someone else has. Given everyone here is smart enough to type on the internet I will assume they are smart enough to not claim exclusive roles. I don't like the first option, and the second is meaningless. As such I stick to my standard refusal in such situations.

ok so if your character's name does not show alignment, how is it helpful to give it away?

I'm Akuma, you're Rose, besides that, there is no information... unless someone is suposed to target Akuma that is.

(i'm not trying to enoy you, just to understand)

(it seems i'm not in your ignore list! yay :p)

I suspect there are character set out to get certain roles, although I am far from certain. It would make sense considering how hard WoW is pushing this name claim while admitting it doesn't have a certain gain to it. Then again it could just be a way to cure first day boredom.

heh, people are really going to claim their roles, yea go ahead and get killed at night.

As I am still quite a newb... how many scum are there usually for 19 players?

Yeah I have to say I'm not sure what this gains us.  Maybe WoW has an ability that lets him do stuff if he knows someone's name!

I'm Sparrowhawk.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

That was a lot of words to say the obvious.

The whole point of this is that it does reveal something.  I wouldn't bother with it if it did not, but it's meaningless unless everyone does it.

Your "standard refusal" is only hurting the town.

What in the hell s going on?   Already someone is asking for a mass character claim?   I absolutely refuse to do this,  this is ridiculous,  cant we just play the game like normal or something.

I imagine that WoW has a special win scenario where if she kills a certain character it helps her win.   This is the only explanation I can think of for such a bold move.  Especially since this is not normal behavior for her.

And spare me the "you only hurt the town if you refuse" crap,  there isnt a scenario where this could help the town at all.  In fact it will only make things more difficult for the town.

What's going on is that I have a great plan that is win/win/win for the town and so far only one person is cooperating with it.

And since when are bold moves "not normal behavior" for me?  Have you not been in at least one game with me?  Those are the defining characteristics of my playstyle especially when I have a plan.
