Forums - Sony - Will you be staying with dual analog for FPS games?

I'm guessing a lot of PS3 owners here aren't all too interested in the motion control aspect of what Move can do but I'd like to know how many of you will be choosing pointer controls for your FPS.

Here's an example of just how accurate and precise pointer controls are on Wii:

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I know this is in Sony discussion, but I think Halo Reach is going to be my final dual analog stick FPS. To be honest, I don't even want to think about playing another PS3 FPS with that sucky controller configuration (see Killzone series). Finally, a better way to play is going to be universal, well for the Wii and PS3 at least. Mouse keyboard combination is still the best though.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Time will tell. I'm not completely sold on the Move/Wiiremote setup yet, although that's mostly because of how the controller handles when your pointer goes offscreen (mitigated somewhat on the Wii with MPlus usage), I hope the Move will be able to handle it well, because that's really my only problem with it.

I do expect motioncontrols like that to overtake dualanalogues though, if not this generation then the next.

Yes. Though I do plan to get move along with SOCOM4 and KZ3 but I doubt I'll be ditching dual analogue 24/7.

4 ≈ One

I like my trusty dual shock controller, and I look forward to play against Move people in KZ3.

Dual analog on consoles and my trusty mouse on PC. I'm not really interested in spending near $100 for the camera and move controller and then the $30 depending on if I'd want to use the DS3 or the navigation controller.

Having played Socom 4 on the Move I would say I will most likely stick to Dual Analog controls and that the difference between pointer and analog controls for shooters is not as huge as some would like to think.

...

Yeah i find the controls better than a wii remote.

Wow, I mean in Killzone you had to press start, hit controls and then adjust them. Some people...

And Motion Controls are not better for FPS games. If you look at the Socom footage, it's clear that the dualshock folks can own the motion control players.

Motion controls are better for headshots, and long range accurate shots - but with motion controls, it's much harder to move the crosshairs along a targets body at a constant speed, and it can take longer to line up the shot.

Yes--dual-analog is more convenient.

I can have people sitting in any direction from the TV, near or far, all playing together with ease.
