I believe that both the 3DS and PSP2 (or whatever it is called) will see Monster Hunter games. Who gets the mainline 'portable' ones is really still up in the air, I would say a 60% chance for 3DS and 40% for PSP2.

If MH goes to the 3DS, then i see no purpose for a PSP2 in japan... So i'm guessing Sony will have to make a deal with Capcom

I think Sony is less capable now of getting a deal, especially considering the money Capcom have made off the 360 this gen. They said it themselves.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

But MH is only big in japan, where 360 isnt... it doesnt matter. MH is a big money franchise there, and it's probably the only reason that the PSP has survived. Now if it were a PS3 game i would definitely agree! PS3/360 is the way to go
When capcom notices the success of 3DS they will start developing MH for 3DS. Or they already have started development. Who doesn't expect 3DS to be a success?

Maybe they just drop the "P" and make MH4 for 3DS? Why have two series?
For me its cristal clear that it is just a matter of time until we hear about mh on 3ds first cuz its portable and second MH3 is best selling MH for home consoles and it is on the Wii.

same game on different system.
MHP3 / MHP3DS
MHP4 / MHP4DS
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Knowing Capcom....theyll announce it one week before MH3P releases on the PSP in November....just because that's the dumb thing to do.
However I doubt Capcom will actually bring it to the 3DS. The PSP2's viability in Japan (if there is a PSP2) relies heavily on Monster Hunter to help sell it. Sony can't really afford to pass that up.
Capcom has put Resident Evil and Street Fighter on the 3DS though.....only makes sense to put their other big IP on there and create a Capcom affinity on the 3DS.
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
They'll return it to Sony where it generally belongs, and has typically sold better.
