so wait you need glasses and a glove with the psp2 in this case?  lol that woudl be epic fail.  nice portable drive having to carry three things around, and ha we would all look like michael jackson with one glove on walking around

I know you're just trying to be funny, so I won't point out your lack of vision.

Transportation is not a problem if you take 2 minutes to think about it, and people would get used to wearing one glove, which is only required for the interactive control. You'd still be able to play normal games with the console buttons.

well the michael jackson thing was a joke yea, but still to have something in your pocket, wearing glasses and wearing a glove.

now i would eb fine if at home doing this, but having to carry around wherever i go a glove, glasses and another phone sized object in pocket.

to me that isn't portable gaming, or handheld gaming or whatever you want to call it.  oh wait ha it literally is HANDheld gaming

Of course there will be a PSP2, but no it won't be 3DS killer, and no Sony likely won't "be smart about it".  It'll be higher performance, higher cost, a year later, and with far worse 3rd party support than PSP1 enjoyed upfront.  I do expect a 2nd analog nub though.

consider this.

ever played in direct sublight or on a rainy day, or while walking?

The glasses fixes all of these things.

You don't have to look down, it blocks light and rain won't affect it because it's a vertical surface, not a flat one. That is even more portable than what we have now. It's just that it will require a small carrying case, which most people already carry for their games, batteries, etc.

with all this talk about where sony is going to be once 3ds comes out, I thought I should recreate this old thread I made that goes over a potential new hardware for psp2. This is not a Nintendo is doomed thread. It's a Sony is NOT doomed thread. Don't get it twisted. Haters.

Well, you title reads otherwise.

But seriously, the specs that you put forth would doom the 3DS, except that it would probably cost 10x more to do.

Unless Sony gets a heretofore unannounced 3D handheld to market in the next six months, Nintendo has the lead.   And with the third-party support that Nintendo appears to have lined up -- plus the head start -- it will be tough to catch.

In my opinion, the PSP Go was an experiment to see if Sony went a different direction with its handheld if it would work. Ironically, it featured many of the things that people say Nintendo does not have (or has not had) -- and it did not sell.

I think Sony sees the 3DS as a bridge to bring people to 3D TVs and the 3D PS3.  In other words, it may cede the handheld battle and use those resources for the console and television wars.

sorry if the title seems a bit aggressive. It's meant to be a sarcastic reflection of the other thread "did nintendo just dreamcast the psp2"

It can be very hard to differentiate between seriousness and satire on these boards.

(Especially when you have people predicting a PSP 3D coming out at $200 for Xmas 2011 in another thread).

is that from one of the movies?

People complain about 3D glasses, so those are a no-go. Besides, most gamers have terrible eyesight, and we'd have to wear them over regular glasses.

Contact lenses, now there's an idea. And it reads the curvature of your retina and curves itself, making your vision perfect.
