Forums - Sony - Sony is “pleased” that Nintendo is releasing 3DS!!!

3DS is probably going to be $199.  At most it'll go to $249 (and throw in a game), but that's really pushing it.

I'm sure your whole family will enjoy sitting still behind your 3DS watching UP in 3D on a 3.5 Inch screen. Sony's 3D is different to Nintendo's 3D. The 3DS is an individual experience, TV 3D is a home theatre feature. Two different market's, one aimed at people like you and one aimed at people who want the top of the range 3D setup at home to watch Avatar and play GT5 in 3D.



Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

No, but when Nintendo does something, Sony does follow. It wasn't so long ago that Sony was scoffing at the Wii, but I'm pretty sure I just watched them dedicate most of their E3 presser to a Wiimote.

Sony is glad because 3DS stole all the hype from kinect and consequently no one cares about kinect anymore, and motion control is already yesterdays news. and for all those people who keep saying sony is copying nintendo etc, didnt sony announce 3D support before nintendo???

its kind of a double edged sword i think

on one side you have people becoming more and more accustomed and wanting 3D if this hits off

on the other side you have people questioning then "why does your tv need glasses.  when will they not need glasses"

and that could force sony to start really R&D'ing on getting a TV like that out there and in which case scraps their current 3D tv's.  Which then where woudl they get their money back on that R&D?  Have to put it into their other products, such as the new 3D glasses fre tv's.  Meaning higher prices and slower adapt.

I know this is just my point of view, but I'm sure there are plenty of other's in teh world that would think same "when will glasses free 3D tv's be out"

lol I love my DS but damn :S 3DS is driving people nuts...lol Sony do NOT need 3d for their handhelds...and i hope they steer away from it too cuz that's not the type of games they are good at....and let's see once the next psp is announced to do the whole sony is the doomzed yeah? WAY too early for all this

I was just talking about the next handheld, not home console.

Motion control is yesterday news? Then sony and MS are stupid for focusing on that in their conferences i guess

Why would Sony feel threatened by the 3DS? If it is indeed a big succes(wich i think it will be) Sony can just release a 3D capable and more powerfull PSP to get some of the cake for themselves.
