Forums - Nintendo - Wii...most immature

 Tell that to Nintendo.  It will make billions off of games targeted to adults (Brain Training, More Brain Training, Big Brain, cookbook games, map games, Wii Fit).

currently playing: Desktop Tower Defense (PC), Puzzle Quest (DS), Trauma Center New Blood (Wii), Guitar Hero III (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), Actraiser (SNES), Donkey Kong County (SNES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Kirby's Adventure (NES)

will play next: Paper Mario (N64), Golden Axe II (Sega), NiGHTS (Wii)

Somehow there is confusion between games meant for mature people and games that are rated M for mature. They are not mutually exclusive. M-rated games can be completely immature while E-rated games can be some of the most mature out there.

And leo-j, once again your view of history is warped. The most famous early video games were all targeted toward adults:

Tennis for Two = laboratory visitors
Space War = college students
Pong = bar patrons

Don't forget Wii is also getting all the E-rated shovelware, heh.

Funny that typically it's the most immature people that tend to be the ones who prefer the more "mature" raited games.

I agree with something

Violence != mature

Rated Mature != Being a mature game

It's no worse than all the M-rated shovelware.  ;)

A lot has already been said about maturity in games, so I don't want to belabor the point.  But think about it this way -- game ratings are a minimum-age cutoff.  E10+ means ages 10 and older, T means 13 and older, M means 17 and older.  You might notice that there is no rating for "13 and under."  That means that there is no game rating that means "this game is inappropriate for adults."

All these graphs really show is that Wii games have a wider possible audience.  Think about it, over half of PS3 games (according to these graphs) are inappropriate for kids under 13.  But no Wii games (according to these graphs) are inappropriate for adults.

Nothing against you, cool48, it was just a stupid headline.  But if someone wants to point out a console's immaturity, show me the slice of the pie that represents games inappropriate for adults.  I'm not saying there won't be one, either.

This is why I play Super Mario Galaxy with a TV and 2 computers

TV for the game
1 PC with executions and murders from shock sites
1 PC with streaming porn

Because I'm from the internet and that's how we roll.

Immature is exactly the opposite of what you're saying. To me a game like Manhunt is more immature than carnival games. But I'm going to chalk this one up to semantics. You're trying to say it's the console with the least games targeted at higher age ratings.

And yes, yes it is.

 This is the correct answer.
