Just ran into this article on IGN. Seems like you don't have to pay for the navigation controller if you don't want to, although the navigation controller is probably more comfortable:

That's already known but 2 things
1: It's supposedly not as comfortable to use compared to the Navi
2: It's easier to argue against the pricing of the psmote combo if you ignore that little fact.
Good, that should save me a bit of money, though I think I will still get 1 navigation controller
I tried hold a duelshock in one hand and a wiimote in the other as a sorta 'test' and I did not like the feel of it. The DS3 is heavy and you are not holding its centre of balance, would probably take a while to get comfortable with.
Six-axis actually felt a lot better due to it being so light.

I'll most likely get a Navi-pad as well a Move pad because I love the feel of the Wii nun-chuk in my hand, it's so comfortable.
its called the NAV-CON lol. btw i think i'm gonna buy 1 NAV-CON and 2 PS MOVE when it comes out.
i wanna see how comfortable the NAV-CON is first.

That's my plan too, I don't know if there are going to be that many co-op games which will need more, and then I have SIXAXES for navigation
lulz, I love how the SIXAXIS is looking less useless now that the Move has arrived.
