The news post accompanying this comic is a rather good read, and can be found at http://www.penny-arcade.com/2010/6/16/
To sumarise it
"[Nintendo] don't have anything to prove, they're on top of the heap in home and portable by a ridiculous margin, so they spun open the valve and drowned an exultant audience in product. They had an array of targets before them - the dizzying breadth of the communities they serve - and they had offerings for each that thwunked in with elven precision. There's almost nothing to discuss, unless you want to talk about the ability to take three dimensional pictures of your junk"
"one may secure Playstation Move for $50, which omits the cost of the Playstation Eye, the newly christened "navigation controller," and the second Move controller so many demos seem to incorporate. What is the true cost of the experience?"
"about Kinect, either. The ideas are all there, but they aren't crystallized into an wide array of strong products."
I think it's a decent reading of it all - although I would like to point out (before I get flamed) that a lot of price totalling that occurs about the PSmove is similar to that employed to discredit the Wii - I think we all remember the 'you need 4 wiimotes 4 nunchuks, 4 WiiM+, 4 classic controllers, 4 gamecube controllers, 4 balance boards and a ludicrously expensive system to charge the wiimotes using fusion power, oh and we'll ignore the fact that many of these things are bundled with games for the same price as a normal game' arguments.
Anyway, discuss but please keep it civil :) And say whose E3 showing appealed the most to you personally (Nintendo for me btw)
