Forums - Sales - 3DS price point guessmate.. how much do you think the 3DS will launch for?

i think the dsi is a ripoff at 170 and the xl way too much.. the dsi should be 120, lite 100, and the 3ds should be 180

From one perspective I agree with you, but as my sister (who has been a handheld gamer since the original Gameboy) said "The difference between Nintendo and their competitors is that Nintendo starts off selling their systems at a reasonable price; and doesn’t need price cuts"

If you consider that a Nintendo DSi is squeezed between an iPod Nano ($149) and the cheapest iPod Touch ($199) in price the price for a Nintendo DS does not seem that unreasonable; and when you factor in how inexpensive DS games are compared to console games it makes the system look like more of a bargain.

Personally, I would expect Nintendo to reduce the price of the DS and DSi to (closer to) your suggested prices when the 3DS launches; and if/when the 3DS launches for $179 to $199 it will make it look that much more reasonable because of how it relates to a Nintendo DSi that you would have paid the same amount to buy last year.

I say it will cost more than the Wii, $220-$250.

$250 or a bit less.

$199.99

Games will be $29.99 to $39.99.

The real question is how much will the games cost, I for one am not up for spending $60 on a video game 3D or not!

Oh wait.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

System 229,99 - 249.99

Games 29,99 - 39,99

Good prices.

But i'm willing to pay up to 299,99 - but I'll doubt Nintendo would do this.

I'd bet a low of $179 and a high of $249.

Anything out of that would be selling at a loss that Nintendo simply won't do or selling at a price point where its out of mass market appeal.

My gut says $200.

I have the feeling that they may try to "Apple" it and sell it at $250. $214.99 is too weird.

$249.

I think Ill buy it if it costs only $199.
