Forums - Sony - Move is accessory hell from a charging perspective.

All of you saying you charge on your laptop and other... that implies your laptop being on, so it won't charge overnight as it would if hooked to your PS3.

(however, a wall USB charger is probably more practical and cheaper than the wii charge stations.... Though, don't batteries in the DS3 start decaying after a few years? can you change them?)

I usually charge while using the controller. When it lets me know it's running low, I plug it into the item closest with a usb port.

the title really shouldn't be about Move, it should just be about the PS3 being stupid for having only 2 usb slots.

I mean having anywhere from 1-10 things that need to use usb things to charge in and only having TWO.

If you have a PSEye, then that means only 1 open slot left to charge your up to 10 controlers that need charging.  Feels like you need to set a kitchen timer or something to remind you to swap charging every hour or so

those saying any USB, yea sure duh, but relaly its so great to have controlers spread out around the house charging at different spots.  And sadly as this may be true, most poeple somehow aren't that smart to even know that you can do that.  I can't imagine any of the girls in my house even thinking of the possibility of that being true.

The real life questions will be:

1) Who the fuck needs to recharge 10 controllers NOW?

2) Do I even have more than 1 USB cable anyway to plug into those additional USB ports?

Holy shit, this is worse than an infomercial, because at least the infomercials take a real life issue and blow it out of proportion. We're seeing people complain about imaginary problems.

Fine if you really do have 10 cords, and 10 controllers, and you have to charge them up soon, go to your PC and fucking plug it into the 6 slots that it has.

BTW, I went down to my living room and found these USB ports right under the TV and PS3.

And most TVs now have USB ports on them:

So we should agree that lack of USBs are not a problem. If there's any problem, it should the lack of recharable cords anway, or an debate of AA vs Rechargeable, since with the Move, you'll have to set down the controller anyway to recharge.

The only question here is:

"Do people know what a USB port is?"

I think most here can't understand Squilliam, because they are gamers. However Sony tries to reach for new groups of people (non-gamers) with the move. And belive it or not some of these people don't know what an USB-Port is. But they know what a battery or a rechargeable battery is. Because batteries are already established. The voltaic pile, which is the first electric battery, was invented in 1800.

Yes, batteries are the established, even when EVERYTHING, from cell phones, laptops, iPods, iPads, etcs use rechargeable.

Yes, people don't know what a USB port, if they've never used a computer before, owned a iPod, had a PS3, used a flash drive, etc.

And if such people exist, I don't think they'll be having 10 controllers, and be constantly recharging them.

This is a make believe problem. I swear Squill what's the next fake problem your going to come up with to try and bash Sony?

       Coffee is for closers!

Looks like people should have bought an early PS3 model with 4 usb ports as I did.

Funny I just tried charging my ps3 controller on my 360, pc and the Wii and it only worked on the wii.

If you've spent $50 on a Move controller, you can probably spend another $6.88 on a USB hub. Or, if you don't care about aesthetics as much, as little as $4.52.

You did something wrong then... i charge my ps3 controller from my 360 all the time.

Cool I'll try again even better!!!

Imaginary problems are the best.. especially when you later complain about imaginary solutions, and how they are troublesome. And like Akvod said; why the hell would anyone need to recharge 10 controlers NOW! Right away!

Im assuming that if the DS3 can work as the move sub controller, the move subcontroller can work as the DS3. So i dont see how every singe unit can run out of batteries at the same time, and you all of a sudden need to recharge everything NOW! And ontop of that, you dont know what a USB port is.

I don't have, nor want a wii... -_-

I use my cable box for charging my controller.

odd thing...  I can charge my ZuneHD via the 360 with the 360 turned off... but the 360 has to be turned on to charge the DS3 ??

WTF I'll try that too as I just got the the Zune HD!

Just tried controller charging again it worked. I was a dumb ass and forget to turn on my 360 controller the first time.

And Hell yeah, the Zune HD charges while the machine is off.

Looks like Move isn't accesory charging hell if you own tons of technology, good news!

Sounds like a bit of a design oversight. Goes to show you that Sony wasn't really thinking of all these peripherals when they redesigned two USB ports out of the PS3.

That being said, I think Move has other, more important barriers to overcome than USB ports.
