everything they have shown was from the 360 version of CRYSIS 2

also look at RAGE on 360.. that is high up there in graphics.. like almost Uncharted 2 high up there

What? Stop with the PS3 Exclusive tone. Thats so last year.

Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Rage all beat Uncharted 2 easily.

Come to think of it now games are all looking so good it's stupid to call anything better than anything else.

Vanquish, Rage, Bulletstorm, KZ3, Gears 3, Crysis 2, Reach, Enslaved to name a few are all amazing beyond anything out now in game engine. Some of these games are throwing around huge scale and masses of onscreen action with loads of particles and effects.

It's pointless to say anything is better than anything else. Crysis 2 sits atop. But there is nothing between the rest. They all beat existing games IMO.

This notion of PS3 can only do it. Has been compleely nullified by 5 multiplat games and 2 exclusive 360 games showing it plays in exactly the same ballpark as PS3. If anything this E3 showed that significantly.

You can add Brink to those games to. 6 multiplats.

And we are yet to see another definate contender Cryteks Kingdoms.

You should have just bought a PS3, or stuck to the PC, then you wouldn't need to keep championing the 360 in an area it's been the underdog for most of this gen selnor.

Bulletstorm has better graphics then Uncharted 2? Do you actually even believe that? From what I've seen the game would have to undergo a massive graphics overhaul before launch to even be in the same league as Uncharted 2. The same goes for Vanquish and Enslaved, while beautiful (not so sure about that in the case of Vanquish) they're not graphics king contenders by any means.

I've said it before in the past: Selnor just wants some game, ANY game that's on the 360 to look better than top PS3 exclusives. He used to say Lost Planet 2 was "graphics king"....

And what's worse is that "This notion that 'PS3 can only do it' has been nullified by 5 multiplats"...is based on complete bullshots. Otherwise, GT5 completely murks everything known to man =/. You think those shots of Vanquish are in game? Gears 3 is on the Unreal Engine...while good looking, time and time again it's shown that's its outdated. And I saw that in game render of Crysis 2 in 'The Wall' trailer in 1080p. Looked no better than an Unreal game.

Stop. Your looking desperate. PS3 exclusives this E3 were not graphically above other games.

PS3 fans are looking desperate. I am basing what I said off of more than 40 minutes of combined footage.

Like I said, you just want ANY game......

It's desperate to say that PS3 exclusives were above others, even though not just PS3 fans, but major gaming sites agree. I guess 1UP is desperate then.

Face it, you're in the minority on this topic, just like you always are, with every game. Funny thing is, everyone (other than you of course) is saying that KZ3 looked better than Crysis and Rage, and that was just a pre-alpha build. And you also ignore that GT5 is it 60FPS, 1080P, and in 3D. Just give up

Looking at Crysis 2 (at least the console footage) it's not impressing me quite like the original did, in fact, not even close. That said, it DOES look good, nothing short of it.

To the Rage vs KZ3/Crysis 2 talk, I still think Killzone 3 may have the edge when all is said and done. From what I've seen of all of them, I think KZ3 still edges out the win, but Rage looks fantastic and Crysis 2 is right behind it. Rage will likely top them both with textures, Crysis 2 will probably top the others with colors, but Killzone 3 will have the overall prowess to pull off the win, I think. Of course it's exclusivity will play a major role, but it is what it is.

Crysis 2 and Rage will win on massive environments. All the previews as well say a enemy appeared before the end of the 20 min demo of Rage that was about the same size as the big ones from GOW3. 0.0

Worth noting to is Crysis 2's full destruction. Again worth noting is that Rage is running double the framerate of both Crysis 2 and Killzone 3.

None of the above games have as high a enemy count as Halo Reach, but KZ3 only impressed me for the water. And it was beautiful water. But the rest was very good. Just not Rage or Crysis 2 good.

Also worth noting is Crysis 2 is the only game of the above doing everything in full realtime.

Well from what I've seen around the net, the buzz is mainly on KZ3. Time will tell which will look better, even though none of it will matter in the long run but otherwise, all is speculation/opinion/perspective.

You do short change KZ3 though.

I'm not short changing KZ3. The water is the most impressive upgrade to KZ2.

It's also worth remembering technically, that Crysis 2 and Rage are sandbox environments. KZ3 is not. And you have to say Rage is so impressive with double the framerate over both Crysis 2 and KZ3.

With the media. I'm finding Rage is getting the most praise. And aparantly at the end of the 20 minute behind closed doors Rage demo was an enemy likened to the size of GOW3 enemies. Now with those visuals that is possible the most advanced tech Ive ever heard of in a game. It certainly dropped the jaws of gaming sites from what Ive read.

There are far more impressive upgrades to the engine than that. Some wuick research will provide that knowledge to you. In the grand shceme of it all, you have short changed it. Not a big deal, just an observation.

Again, it's all about perspective. Read the article 1up posted.1up says Rage and Crysis 2 look fantastic, but say that KZ3 tops them both. Other websites are saying something similar.

It's just an opinion though, nothing to get bent out of shape over.

The 1up guys posted a 1 line comment under a pic.

theother link you posted here says this about the graphics. Notice it says a Graphics king, not 'the' graphics king. And the reason why is they say at present it's not a noticeable upgrade over 2. At the moment. I wont post the stuff about Rage, because I already posted 4 different websites opinions for Rage in this thread further back. So you can view them there.

But the link you provided said this.

"Right off the bat you will realize that Killzone 3 is a graphics king once again.  The lighting has improved and the snow and crashing waves look photo-realistic.  While the graphics do not immediately appear to have been significantly improved, just remember that this game does not come out till February"

Selnor, you're going to continue to run in needless circles. I understand your enthusiasm for Crysis 2, (hell I have the original game, so I get it) but this really is not that big a deal. All three titles will look fantastic when they release. Which one looks, subjectively, "better" or not won't matter in the slightest. But it is a shared opinion regarding Killzone 3, even if you don't share it.

But again, not a big deal.

It doesnt bother me as such. But saying it's a shared opinion is a bot far fetched. Ok yes among Sony fans it always will be a shared opinion. But 1 line from 1 up and an article saying the opposite of what many are saying here is far fetched. I know of 7 full articles saying much more positives about Rage for example. Including big cheeses like IGN and Gamespot.

All I'm saying is the media concesses outside of a sentence from 1up and an article saying current;y KZ3 is not much improved currently is all Ive seen said about KZ3 graphics. Whereas Rage is much more talked about in previews for graphics.

Thats all I'm saying to you.

I actually am a little shocked to still see people talking of PS3 exclusive graphics after this E3. I and many other gaming media were impressed by other games.

Maybe you don't surf N4G as much as myself, I've seen mainly talks of Killzone 3's visuals and jet pack game play, although I admit I have seen quite a few recent articles regarding Rage, but not many for Crysis 2.

And the reason people still speak of PS3 exclusives is because they've been the ones "wowing" the industry since Februrary 2009. Killzone 3 looks to raise the bar again, whether it's a shared opinion between us or not, that's just the way things seem to be headed. Rage is from a developer known to raise the bar as well, as are the Crysis 2 devs (though this will be the first shot at console gaming).

I'm not saying it's impossible for either title to top Killzone 3 (in fact, if there are two titles I see as capable of taking it head on, it'd be these two) but just because you don't agree doesn't mean the game is lacking or somehow PS3 exclusives are a thing of the past when discussing visual fidelity.

I'd honestly love to continue discussing this but it seems neither of us will be moved. If you'd like to continue, PM, I'll gladly discuss it there and not continue to disrupt the topic of the thread (after all, your thread is about Crysis 2 - not Killzone 3 or Rage).

Fair point. No I'm not a fan of N4G.

We'll leave it at that. We obviously surf different gaiming media. :)

Well, Selnor, the media can still talk about games and be hyped about their looks, without necessarily meaning they are taking the "best graphics on console" crown. Everytime a game is potentially gonna look "more awesomest mind-blowing crazy"  compared to PS3 exclusives, you always over-hype the shit out of it.  As if you had an inferiority complex you need to strongly compensate for, or something (not saying you have that, per-se). And as far as I know, you always end up putting a foot in your mouth.  I mean, isn't Alan Wake recent enough to remind you how that attitude of yours puts you in embarrassing troubles?

Speaking of Alan Wake.  The game is absolutely gorgeous.  Yet still falls short of Uncharted 2 and especially God of War 3's graphical mastery.  It's still a pretty amazing looking game at the end of the day.  Just like any games being currently being developed can be awesome looking games, without necessarily having to take the crown from the cream of the cream.

From my perspective, it looks like you jump into the hyping machine that these devs start.  Crytek said their game is going to look better than anything on the console market so far, and you buy it without any scrutiny.  That's how I see you, judging from the many threads you've done in the same manner.  Could be wrong though, but that's the image I have  of you (and the image many others here have of you too, I'd wager).

Now, those FPS games all look very good.  But to call any of those a definite winner at this point is rather ludicrous, at least when you talk about the technical aspect of it.  Anyone can prefer an art style over the other.  But when it comes from a technical stand points, those games are not showing enough right now to really determine the one that achieves more.  I'm not saying Crysis 2 or Rage won't look better than Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 or God of War 3.  But at this point in time, it's just impossible to determine if they do achieve that.

Where I agree with you about my history. I'll just point out this regarding this thread.

I posted these shots as amazing.

I didnt actually care at all, just that they were awesome.

However the thread began to have many a Sony comment that KZ3 is better. Multiplats suck. So I didnt actually claim anything. Until the fans of this site as usual began to come in with the whole PS3 exclusives are better.

I'm not saying I have not been silly in the past. But with this thread, my reaction to them is more about disbelief than anything. The thread wasn't created with any best graphics ever written there.
