The only way to make this more unbelievable would be for a full-fledged remake of Final Fantasy VII to join that unnecessary remake of Ocarina of Time.  After all, just because the Game Boy Advance got ports/upgrades of Final Fantasys 1-6 doesn't mean the 3DS would get remakes of 7-12 just because it'd be too good an idea.


People think Sony owns the rights to Final Fantasy VII - XIII. That was proven false by the Multi-platform of Final Fantasy XIII. Square-Enix are the only ones that decide what they want to do with FFVII. If Nintendo wanted FFVII right now they can buy it off of Square or simplyl just port it over in 3D.

no Nintendo can't as Square Enix wouldn't just throw in their MOST VALUED TITLE till date just like that

it would take alot of money for that too happen and SQ and SONY ,must have some contract

your saying that Nintendo can buy FF7 to be on 3DS isn't really that easy as SONY would have a exclusive contract with SQ

SONY doesn't own FF7 but they have some control over that thing

why do you think it didn't come on any other platform till now after the first releases

SONY published it too

most of anything after the recent MS-Square Enix partnerships atleast FF7 should have come to XBLA but it didn't

why do you think after so much of MS trying to appeal to JAPANESE gamers and making every SQ game come to 360,would they just leave the biggest game of Square Enix just like that?

also SONY's publishing of the game gives them certain powers

oooh, I hear that the 3DS will have 2 gigabyte of storage space. I figured SE would translate FF 1-6 for the DS and would hit a stumbling block for FF7. Even with massive compression, reduced size.... it would still be near if not impossible to put the game on 256mb. With 2gig however, that changes everything. They could put FF7 on 3Ds easy.

Actually I don't really care that much. I'm just interested from a techincal and business perspective if SE would do such a thing.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
