Forums - Sony - Can Sony possibly have a worse press conference than Microsoft?

the microsoft conference this year, was "better" than last year... or about the same.. or worse actually

G4 said they hated it because they were showing PS2 EYE TOY knock offs, and not advanced tech that NATAL was promising..

Usually a person picks only one of the mutually exclusive options.

And you've given us G4's opinion, for what it's     worth, but what's yours?  Out with it!

well idk, I personally was impressed witht he display from kinetic, but It felt like eyetoy games too..until ubisoft showed off there game.

We'll see what happens.

The word Kinect kind of reminds me of the PS2 game called "EyeToy Kinetic"

That game was pretty simillar to that ubisoft game they showed :P

A banner stolen from some site xD

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

Same here lol

Kinetic would make more sense too because of what it means anyways...

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Thought this was good until that shift gimmick.

edit: wrong thread.

The MS conference wasn't anywhere near as bad as everyone is saying it was....Really there were a TON of new exclusives announced.

Dude i'm sorry but your going to have to give up on MS sooner or later.  A "TON" of new EXCLUSIVES?  Name at least 5 new EXCLUSIVES(NOT ON PC, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?  IT STILL WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE) that were announced today?  I'm not talking about games we already knew about like HR, GOW3 or F3.  BUT TRUE NEW EXCLUSIVES.  I respect the fact that you support MS but you just crossed the line right there my friend.

Well, I can give some proof from today's Microsoft show.  They didn't  announce either of these games coming to the 360 today:  Agent, Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, or Kingdom Hearts 3 meaning all these games are still most likely PS3 exclusives.  And there will be many more Japanese developed exclusives headed the PS3's way.

What we already have enough information to be able to predict reasonably well for Sony's conference:

Sony will show wonderful core games at their show including The Last Guardian which will wow all the critics and their not going to make the mistake of devoting their entire motion control segment to casual games.

Plus, their presentation of core games will be much longer than Microsoft's was today.  The presentation of core games definitelywon't take a backseat to trying to win the casual crowd at Sony's show tomorrow.

Nintendo's going to need to spend very little time talking about their Vitality Sensor wares and Wii series games and quite a bit of time announcing sequels in all their most long awaited core sequels including Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, and the Mother series if they don't want to come in a distant second place this year.

I'm sorry... but so many of these ideas are ludicrous beyond belief.

I would like to know why they're ludicrous.  Sony said last year that they consider the stuff that Nintendo and now Microsoft have done with motion control to be no brainers on how to use the technology and that they were interested in using it instead to enhance core games.  And why shouldn't they?

Everybody seems to think you get more sales these days by going after the casuals, but Sony sold 250 Million consoles with PS1, PS2, and PSP by having the best core games on the market and not the most number of casual titles.

Also, they've fought back against Wii and DS with PS3 and PSP in Japan by having the best core games on the market there.

Sony will show 5 to 7 core games that feature Move controls.  It's true they might have a couple of token games like a dance game or a sports game (even though they said they were opposed to them last year), but they're Move games will be sequels or remakes like Resident Evil 5 Move, Heavenly Sword 2, Infamous 2, and Little Big Planet 2, that will implement the new controls into this year's finest core games instead of all the gimmicky casual products that Microsoft spent an hour discussing today instead of having core game developers show off their new titles while Sony will go back to gaming's roots which traditionally is what people watch E3 to see:  rpgs, adventure titles, Gran Turismo 5, etc.
