Looks aside, I want to know what really matters to me: will the infamous 'light of death' be fixed on the slim versions? If yes, I might finally get a 360.

Eh, I'm pretty sure that hasn't been much of an issue on new systems for about a year now.  At the very least, this complete redesign should solve any major problems.

I wouldn't worry about it.

The RRoD is not an acutal issue with any 360, instead it is an indicator for people at the factory, to let them know that you've had a massive system failure. You can also get 2 red lights, which indicates a different malfunction, and which is not covered under the 3 year warranty.

In other words, the RRoD is an indicator of a massive system failure, and it is not the cause of the system failure. The system failure can be caused by any number of things, the most common being improper soldering on the mobo, which fails due to longterm exposure to excessive heat.

Now, I believe, what you want them to fix is the most common cause of RRoD, the heat issue. I'm not sure if that will be fixed with this reitteration, or if new problems will arise.

However, if all you care about is the removal of the actual red colored lights, well MS could easily do that, and the 360 could still have the same issues, and it could still fail regularly with or without those lights. What you want and need to be fixed is the heat issue, and the lights on the console should in theory, be insignificant.

Let me use an example here. Let's say your car that keeps breaking down, and when it breaks down, the check engine light comes on. Now, what do you want the people at the shop to fix? The cause of the breakdown? Or would you rather them just remove the fuse for your check engine light?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I think it looks neither cool, nor uncool. It's not ugly or pretty. It is in between. I'm more interested in the heat of the thing, and how it plays/stats, ect.

I think the looks of the console are HIGHLY subjective, and I also believe that the item in question needs proper scale to be able to determine how it compares to the original design.

I also believe this is real, confirming the slim, which is much bigger news than simply how it looks. Compared to the PS3 slim, I don't think it looks better or worse. It simply exists.

That sounds very Zen.

I agree though, I definitely don't actively dislike the new look, the only thing I wonder about is whether they're going more for the casual/everyone crowd with this design or the hardcore/18-35 year old male crowd.  Because it looks like the latter.

If it's actually coming out at 200 with a big hardrive though, that alone should be enough to put the 360 back on top of the PS3, whatever Kinnect ends up doing.

I don't think it looks bad at all - more of an aggressive hard edged look.  I don't think they will label this a 'slim' maybe the 'Xbox 360 plus'.  It would seem very strange to me should they include a internal HDD and wireless adapter as they would lose their high-margin accessory sales.  I'm thinking they didn't slim it down too much so that they can continue to keep selling those external HDD's.

I hope they add more ram, and Suikoden V is the best game yet made in this verse.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

It'd look much nicer without the vents on the side. Isn't there enough room on the back and the top?

I wonder if they're going to redesign the controller while they're at it. The d-pad could use some serious help!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I need a comparison with the current model to see if it is really slim

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

It looks a bit nicer then what the 360 looks like now....so this slim 360 probably really will happen (which is so awesome)

God I have so many questions...guess i'll just have to wait until tomorrow for them to be answered though.
